Ficus licker
The ficus licker[note 1] is a minor character in Undertale. They reside in the restaurant of the MTT Resort in Hotland.
The ficus licker is an orange, humanoid monster. Their head is large and round, and their face consists of large eyes and a angular mouth. Four dots are arranged in a square across their chest. Their arms are small in comparison to the rest of their body. Gaster follower 1 greatly resembles them.
The ficus licker is socially awkward and self-conscious, choosing to feign competence by wandering deeper into MTT Resort's restaurant rather than leaving upon remembering that they forgot to make a reservation. They are awkward to an excessive degree, choosing to lick dew off of a ficus instead of leaving even when the barrier is broken.
The ficus licker is situated in the bottom-left corner of the MTT Resort's restaurant. They had forgotten to make a restaurant reservation but did not want to look like they had messed up, so they walked further and further into the building until they reached the ficus. To continue avoiding embarrassment, they began licking the ficus, consuming its dew.[1] If Mettaton is killed, they wonder what he would think if he saw them licking one of his plants.[2]
During the True Pacifist Route epilogue, the ficus licker realizes they no longer have to lick the ficus now that monsters are free, but they continue to lick it anyways to avoid looking like they messed up.[3]
In room_water_mushroom, a character with the ficus licker placeholder sprite has dialogue similar to Ragel.
During Chapter 2 of Deltarune, the ficus licker sits in a booth in QC's Diner. They have forced themselves to become a customer to avoid looking like they messed up having mistaken the restaurant for a post office.
During the Undertale 10th Anniversary Stream, an NPC who greatly resembles the ficus licker is present in the newly-added Hotland High. They are situated near the fire-spewing water fountain at the far-left side of the hallway.
