Big Mouth[note 1] is a minor character in Undertale. They are a patron of Grillby's and sit at one of the booths.
Big Mouth is a greenish-yellow monster with a large, orange mouth filled with sharpened teeth.
Big Mouth expresses interest in food, especially the food on the surface. They seem to have a refined taste and criticizes Sans's choice of burger at Grillby's.[2]
Big Mouth is seated at the topmost booth at Grillby's. When interacted with, they express a negative opinion and a desire to try human food from the surface due to its different properties from monster food.[3] When spoken to again, they also mention bathrooms on the surface.
When returning to Snowdin after defeating Undyne, Big Mouth explains monster food's properties: it converts directly into usable energy when ingested, making it possible to "eat during battle".[4]
If Papyrus is killed, they mention that by this time, Sans should have come in and that a little bit later, Papyrus should come in irritated. They notice his disappearance and hope that he shows up.[5]
During the True Pacifist Route epilogue, Big Mouth expresses interest in trying human food and bathrooms.
In the official UNDERTALE Art Book, an early version of Big Mouth's sprite, designed by Temmie Chang, is shown featuring their full appearance. Although the character is not referred to with any pronouns in-game or in Grillby's comics, the description in the art book notably refers to them as male.[6]
The "Grillby's Rogues' Gallery" on Fangamer provides more information on Big Mouth. Known as Mouth[7] (JP: マウス), they have a job in the medical industry, of which they spend their money to buy exotic foods off of Sans.[8]
Big Mouth has a red-colored counterpart in Deltarune. They work as a nurse in Hometown's hospital and man the front desk.
