Watching man
The watching man[note 1] is a minor character in Undertale. They appear in the True Lab's Bedroom area.
The watching man appears to be a white Amalgamate with a spoon-like head and one long arm with seemingly no fingers. They do not appear to have any visible facial features or legs.
The watching man does not speak when they appear. However, they react to the protagonist's presence and tuck them into bed.
If the protagonist climbs into the bed that has the covers pulled off in the True Lab's bedroom, the watching man appears at the bedside after a few seconds. Their arm slowly reaches toward the protagonist in a menacing manner; only the player can see the supposed threat to the protagonist, as the latter does not look behind their back when they get on the bed. As soon as the watching man gets close enough, they pull the covers over the protagonist and then pat them on the head. They then fade to nothingness. No dialogue exchange is made during the interaction.
