Shambling Mass[note 1][1] is a slime monster found in the lobby of MTT Resort, waiting to use the elevator.
Shambling Mass is a pitch-black creature, with a vaguely humanoid silhouette. They have no visible limbs, but have curling protrusions from the sides of the bottom and middle of their body. They have one large eye located in the upper half of their body. They wear a red bow tie.
Shambling Mass only speaks to express their emotions, prefacing their statements with "As a slime". This may imply their identity as a slime is important to their opinions. They seem to appreciate Mettaton, being saddened by his death.
Shambling Mass likely has a job in business, working in New Home. They are one of the individuals to be trapped in MTT Resort while the elevator to New Home isn't functional, along with Business Manticore and Sad Dragon. They express outrage.[2]
If Mettaton is killed, they express their sadness.[3]
During the True Pacifist Route's epilogue, Shambling Mass expresses that they are overjoyed.[4]
In Chapter 4 of Deltarune, Shambling Mass appears as an NPC in Hometown. They appear in front of Flower King.
