Rock
WHOA there, pardner! Who said you could push me around?
Rock
The rock[1] is a minor character in Undertale. They obstruct one of the puzzles in the Ruins.
The rock resembles a regular gray rock that is found around the underground, but is sentient.
The rock is slightly informal, often g-dropping in dialogue. They appreciate politeness, which they return to others.
The rock appears in the second rock puzzle room, with two other inanimate rocks that the protagonist must push onto pressure plates.
Upon the protagonist making contact, the rock protests. Instead of pushing the rock like the inanimate rocks, the protagonist interacts with the rock to get them to move on their own. The first time causes the rock to move slightly forward, then stop. The second time, they move upward. The protagonist tells them that this is the wrong way, and the rock finally understands what they want and moves all the way onto the pressure plate.
Once the protagonist goes near the spikes, the rock moves off. Coming back and correcting them causes the rock to stay on the pressure plate, who also comments that it is easier to just ask.
At the end of the True Pacifist Route, the protagonist returns, and the rock is interested in leaving the Ruins. The rock asks the protagonist to move them.
