Library Loox
Library Loox is a minor character in Undertale. They are a monster that appears similar to Loox, and resides in Snowdin Town's Library, standing near the table. Similar to Lady Garf, who they stand nearby to, they have an interest in newspaper puzzles.
Library Loox is an orange, round creature with a yellow grin, no arms, and two feet. They have curved horns on their head, and only one eye. On their cheeks is a visible blush.
They appear similar to a Loox, but are set apart by key differences. Their eye appears to be a yellow eyeball, more natural than that of a Loox, and they have no arms, unlike a Loox. Their full, circular face is also visible, while only a Loox's teeth are visible of the bottom half of its face.
Library Loox's behavior is strangely influenced by the player's choices. Depending on which the player finds harder, Library Loox will either struggle on completing a Junior Jumble or crossword. They view this as the greatest struggle of their life,[1] showing that they take puzzles very seriously. They seem to be extremely good at reading people, intuiting information about the protagonist through their eyes.
Their dialogue is affected by the protagonist's choice between Junior Jumble or crossword being more difficult. Whichever one the protagonist chose, Library Loox will be able to read in their eyes which one they find more difficult. Once the protagonist defeats Undyne, Library Loox assumes that the protagonist thinks Sudoku is just moderately challenging, showing that they are impressed.
In the True Pacifist epilogue, Library Loox will reveal that they have finally completed whichever daily puzzle the protagonist claimed was most challenging.
The Deltarune counterpart of Library Loox appears in Chapter 2, discussing Flower King.
- They are internally referred to as
mikewazowskias a reference to Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc., a Disney-Pixar film.
