Ice Wolf[1] is a minor character in Undertale. They are located in Snowdin Town's northern area, near the river.
Ice Wolf is a large, dark gray lupine monster with muscular arms and short legs. They do not wear any clothes.
Ice Wolf is dedicated to their job of throwing ice, but they express a desire to acquire some pants.
Ice Wolf is exclusively referred to by themself and others with they/them pronouns. However, in the Japanese localization's script, if Papyrus is called in the room with Ice Wolf and is not accompanied by Undyne, he will call them a "けむくじゃらのおとこ" (kemukujara no otoko), or "hairy man".[2] If Undyne is present, "ひと" (hito), "person" is used instead. [3]
Ice Wolf is seen throwing large blocks of ice into the nearby river in Snowdin Town. Since they are situated in an enclosed space, they cannot be interacted with directly. The ice thrown by Ice Wolf travels throughout the underground and eventually reaches the CORE, where it serves to regulate its cooling.[4]
After completing the True Pacifist Route, Ice Wolf can be spoken to directly. They are mostly happy that they do not have to throw ice anymore so they can take a break to buy some pants. They are also considering changing their name to "Jimmy Hotpants".[1]
In Deltarune, Ice Wolf is seen around Hometown. In Chapter 2, they are inside ICE-E's P"E"ZZA, and in Chapter 4, they are in front of the Town Hall preparing for an upcoming festival.
