Business Manticore[note 1][1] is a monster found in the lobby of MTT Resort, who explains the current situation regarding the resort's elevator.
Business Manticore is a four-legged monster, with a body matching that of a lion, a barbed tail, and a human-like hairdo, fitting descriptions of the mythical manticore. Their body is completely white, except for the end of their tail, which is rounded and black, and their black hair. Their hair appears to be done in a ponytail. They wear red heels on their front legs and wear a pair of glasses. They have a black suitcase at their side.
Business Manticore loves explaining things to passersby who would not otherwise be aware of them. They seem to enjoy Mettaton's shows, as they notice quickly if he stops broadcasting.
Business Manticore appears to have a job in business, working in New Home. They are one of the individuals to be trapped in MTT Resort while the elevator to New Home is not functional,[2] along with Shambling Mass and Sad Dragon. They decide to explain this to the protagonist.
If Mettaton is killed, they notice that Mettaton has not made a performance for more than five minutes, and ask if the protagonist knows the reason why, unable to explain it.[3]
During the True Pacifist Route's epilogue, Business Manticore informs the protagonist that the elevator is functional again, but that it is now too busy to use, and so they and others are still stuck in the MTT Resort.[4]
In Deltarune, Business Manticore is known only as Manticore and appears as an NPC in Hometown.
- Business Manticore bears a resemblance to the god tier form of Jade Harley, a character from Homestuck, a webcomic which Toby Fox was heavily involved in as a composer. Both characters have black hair, white, animal-like features, rounded glasses, and red shoes. Toby has jokingly referenced this similarity,[5] but it is unknown if it was intended during the game's development.
