Ghost Fight

Ghost Fight is the 10th track in the UNDERTALE Soundtrack and the 9th track in the Undertale Demo OST. It plays during the encounter against Napstablook.
This track was originally composed for a Super Nintendo-style music compilation video.[1] It was inspired by Pepper Steak from OFF,[2] the primary battle theme of that game.
- This track has a unique loop in the Undertale Demo OST.
- The track is played at 0.9 speed in the Fangamer Demo.[3]
- The bassline of the song towards the beginning shares a leitmotif with Dogbass.[4]
- The bassline of the song is similar to the bassline of another Toby Fox track, Noisemaker's Theme, which also influenced It's Showtime!.
- This track, Fallen Down and Amalgam are the only tracks in the game where the EarthBound soundfont constitutes the entirety of the instrumentation.[5]

By the way, I composed Napstablook’s battle theme for fun way before UNDERTALE ever existed. But deciding to use it in this context was indeed inspired by Pepper Steak from OFF.
