Question

Are you a bot or a person, and if you are the latter, do you know how to solve a Rubin cube? (As that is your pfp) Kk Cayden K. (talk) 03:57, 9 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

You might've done it wrong - take a look at any YouTube footage when searching for that specific word. For example: https://youtu.be/DAE9FDkAobw?t=6m10s KockaAdmiralac (talk) 18:17, 12 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Etymology

I apologize, I didn't notice that. Because there was nothing like that in Fandom. I didn't notice this with Asriel or other characters. Is this something new, is this your idea? Alex1999 (talk) 20:50, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

This is a part of the ongoing Trivia Reorganization Project, where we reduce Trivia section sizes by moving information into the page body. We introduced a few new sections into the page organization standard for this occasion, Etymology included. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 21:01, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
Interesting, I like it and it's really impressive. Thanks for the explanation and good luck to you KockaAdmiralac. To be honest, you impressed me. Alex1999 (talk) 21:07, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Small thumbnail issue

I'm not 100% on it being the update that caused it, but I think the recent wiki maintenance update messed up the thumbnail preview for File:Flowey screenshot absorbing SOULs.gif on Photoshop Flowey's page. It happens in the latter half of the gif when the SOULs close in closer to Flowey, parts of the image turn white that shouldn't. The image otherwise looks normal when it's not in thumbnail format. Just wanted to point it out in case it was an unknown issue. HylianAngel (talk) 23:11, 11 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

I think it's not recent, that happened when we switched to WebP thumbnails, which was a few months ago. But I'll take note of it. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 23:21, 11 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
My mistake, and thanks for your time! HylianAngel (talk) 23:34, 11 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Deleted music file

Could File:CORE (Soundtrack) music.ogg be restored? For the CORE (Soundtrack) page where it used to be on. HylianAngel (talk) 00:11, 24 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Restored. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 16:26, 24 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Voicebyte

Are you sure "sound bite" is a good replacement? I'm aware that it's essentially synonymous with "voice clip" and that there isn't really one single term for those sounds*, but I worry the journalistic definition of the term is more well-known than the synonymous one. This is why I thought "voicebyte" was a good term - it was both concise and put focus on the fact the sound is what the characters use as their "voice",

*TVTropes refers to it as Voice Grunting, but that'd sound very awkward instead. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 17:34, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Sound bite is, as far as I know, the term that we've been using for years. I would rather not invent new terms. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 18:21, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
You (as in the wiki) have? I've searched for it and it seems to be used only in four articles, one of which is Chara's and was edited by you today. Clint Barton Fan (talk) 18:34, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
I remember there being edits changing bite to byte and the other way around years ago. We never ever standardized a term, so it probably got changed several times over. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 03:32, 28 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what the existing wiki standard is, but in general, there really isn't any sort of official or catch-all term for the dialogue sound effect produced by characters speaking in text boxes in video games. Wikipedia and online dictionaries suggest that sound bite, soundbite, and sound-bite are real words, but they aren't necessarily the terms that users most commonly use when referring to the speech sound effect, and I agree it could cause some conflation. I've heard "dialogue blips" and "speech blips" as terms too but never "voicebyte" until reading Undertale and Deltarune Wikis. Don't really have any input on the matter, other than it would be nice for it to be a consistent term throughout the wiki, but it is unfortunate there is a lack of "proper" candidates.
Also wanted to note that Toby says "voice noise" for the Alphys voice tidbit on stream. It does convey the meaning well for stream purposes even though it probably wouldn't be a good wiki term. HylianAngel (talk) 21:58, 27 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'm not getting a confirmation email

https://undertale.wiki/index.php?title=User_talk%3AJacky720#I'm_not_getting_a_confirmation_email Available-Expert-472 (talk) 09:32, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your confirmation email hard bounced 8 times with the reason "5.1.8 Email could not be delivered for policy reasons". This error message is coming from your email provider, and I have no idea what it means. Because hard bouncing is bad for our email reputation, I had to manually block the email provider from further sending to that address.
You seem to be a temporary email generator website. Why? Discussions should no longer require a verified email (as of yesterday), and I'm not sure if a temporary email is useful for receiving email notifications or recovering your account, given it expires in a couple days. You don't generally need a verified email to participate in the wiki. KockaAdmiralac (talk) 10:40, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay thanks for telling me, it's weird they're doing that, I thought they were reputable. I tried using Discussions yesterday and it said "Confirmed email required" but it works now. Available-Expert-472 (talk) 11:02, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Wikis are so important to me. Too many MediaWikis are so too much important to me.

When https://undertaleau.wiki is gonna be created? A lot of days?

I think https://undertaleau.wiki should have Underfell and etc. Belankt294842 (talk) 04:11, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I think this depends on the people interested in documenting Undertale AUs on wikis, which I'm unfortunately not a part of. Have you tried asking users on the Undertale AU wikis, either Fandom or Miraheze? KockaAdmiralac (talk) 17:20, 11 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Why doesn't Asriel's page indicate that he's one of the main characters?

Why doesn't Asriel's page indicate that he's one of the main characters? I don't understand the logic, here https://undertale.wiki/w/Category:Main_characters it is shown that he is one of the main characters, but in his page there is none. Since when is he an overarching antagonist? Maybe I don't understand something? Alex1999 (talk) 15:20, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
