Undyne date
After defeating Undyne, the protagonist is given the option to hang out with her. Doing this unlocks the opportunity to date Alphys after defeating Omega Flowey, and continues the quest line for the True Pacifist Route.
To unlock the hangout, the protagonist must not have killed any monsters in battle beforehand. Papyrus must have already been befriended prior to this hangout, which he reminds the protagonist of when he calls them while running from Undyne. Papyrus appears in front of Undyne's house after his hangout and facilitates the hangout with Undyne.
When running from Undyne, the protagonist must give her some water from the water cooler when she collapses in Hotland. Failure to do so aborts the True Pacifist Route, and the option to hang out with her becomes locked.
To initiate the hangout, the protagonist must backtrack to Undyne's house in Blook Acres and speak to Papyrus. The hangout is available when She's Playing Piano plays at the entrance to the house.

Upon answering "yes" to Papyrus's offer, he knocks on the door to the house. Undyne opens the door and allows both Papyrus and the protagonist to enter. The protagonist cannot leave the area at this point.
Upon entering the house, Papyrus jumps out the window and leaves the area. Left alone with the protagonist, Undyne asks if they have come to humiliate them, to which they can answer "yes" or "no". Answering "yes" causes Undyne to immediately insist they become friends and initiate the hangout.
Answering "no" to Undyne's initial question causes her to assume the protagonist wants to become friends with her, to which they can respond "Yes" or "NEVER with you". Responding with the latter causes Undyne to initiate the hangout, insisting they become friends. However, answering the former causes her to rebuke the protagonist. This causes Papyrus to return to the house and pose the hangout as a challenge. Upon hearing this, Undyne insists they become friends and initiates the hangout.
From here, Undyne asks the protagonist to take a seat. The protagonist can explore and interact with the objects in the house, which elicits commentary from Undyne.
- Interacting with the broken window causes Undyne to comment that Papyrus usually nails the landing, implying that him jumping through the window is a common occurrence.
- Interacting with the piano causes Undyne to relay a story about Alphys's "friend", implied to be Mettaton, coming over and lying on the piano while feeding himself grapes.
- Interacting with the door to Undyne's room causes Undyne to exclaim that "nerds" are not allowed, with some exceptions.
- Opening the drawer in which Undyne stores Papyrus's present bones reveals the Annoying Dog in the drawer, which winks at the screen before the protagonist closes the drawer.
- Interacting with the stove causes her to comment that, despite technological advancements, she still prefers home-cooked meals.
- Interacting with the fridge causes Undyne to explain that it heats up her food instead of cooling it down.
- Interacting with the sword causes Undyne to explain that she and Alphys built the sword to emulate the anime they watched.
The protagonist must sit down at the table to progress the hangout. Undyne asks what they would like to drink. Once they move, however, Undyne suddenly throws a spear at the table and asks that they use the spear to point to what they want.
The spear can be moved using the directional buttons. A message prompt appears when pointing at an object the protagonist can inspect:
- Pointing the spear at Undyne while she demands them to choose a drink causes her to ask if the protagonist is flirting with her. Selecting her again only results in repeated question marks.
- Selecting the Sword when she demands them to choose a drink causes her to comment that she would gladly fill the protagonist with swords if they were not her house guest.
- Selecting the Fridge with the spear when she demands them to choose a drink causes her to comment that she would never give the protagonist her entire fridge.
- Selecting the Hot Chocolate when she demands them to choose a drink results in her telling the protagonist that the Hot Chocolate box is empty; she stopped getting it because Asgore kept getting marshmallows stuck in his beard.
- Selecting the Soda when she demands them to get a drink results in her about to get it for the protagonist, but then realizes that they do not look like they want it. She goes on to say how soda "rots your fighting spirit", then as if the protagonist asks her, she says: "Why do I have it?" and then makes an expression similar to (:3).
- Selecting the sugar when she demands them to get a drink causes Undyne to tell them that the sugar is for the tea, and that she is not going to give them a cup of sugar. She then asks if she looks like the ice-cream woman, following up by asking if human ice-cream women "terrorize humanity with energy spears" and if their ice-cream songs are a "PRELUDE TO DESTRUCTION". The player is then given a yes/no prompt: if the player chooses "no", she replies with "That's what I thought." Choosing "yes" causes her to reply with "... what? REALLY? That rules!!!"
- The tea, jokingly referred to as the "blatantly correct choice", is the only option that Undyne accepts as a drink.
Upon choosing the tea box, she then makes tea, then sits down at the table. She then talks about Asgore and Papyrus, and explains how she came to lead the Royal Guard. She then goes on to remark about how Papyrus missed his cooking lesson and demands that the protagonist takes it in his place.

Undyne lifts the protagonist and transports them to the counter, where she then produces some vegetables. She asks the protagonist to pound the vegetables, and the protagonist is given a prompt to pound them either "Strong" or "Wimpy". Upon selecting a choice, Undyne then pounds the vegetables herself and produces a pot and a box of noodles.
Undyne and the protagonist walk to the stove, where she asks them to put the noodles into the pot. The protagonist is given a prompt to put them in either "Fiercely" or "Careful".
Undyne then asks the protagonist to stir the noodles. A prompt appears at the top of the screen to press [CONFIRM] repeatedly. Upon doing so, Undyne eventually stirs them herself by slamming her spear repeatedly onto the pot.
Undyne then asks the protagonist to turn up the heat. A prompt appears at the top of the screen to hold the right directional input to turn the dial. The player cannot turn the dial to the left. Eventually, the fire completely engulfs the pot, after which the screen briefly flashes white.

With the room completely engulfed in flames, Undyne initiates a battle against the protagonist, believing to have failed to befriend them. She allows the protagonist the first attack. The protagonist must either attack her directly using the FIGHT option or use the "Fake Attack" ACT, both of which cause Undyne to take 1 HP of damage.
Undyne realizes that the protagonist does not wish to hurt her and admits that she does not want to hurt the protagonist either. She asks the protagonist to talk to Asgore once they reach him and resolve their conflict peacefully. She and the protagonist then escape her house.
Concluding the hangout, Undyne runs off to see Papyrus since her home is now on fire. The protagonist is then able to call Papyrus alongside Undyne using Papyrus's phone number to elicit commentary from both of them. If the protagonist did not befriend Undyne before defeating Asgore and backtracks to befriend her, she gives a letter to Alphys before leaving.
