"A variant of this, where all encountered monsters were killed, is known as the No Mercy or Neutral No Mercy Route, which yields an identical ending." What does this mean? How is it a variant? Isn't killing all encountered monsters the same as "at least one (but not every) non-boss monster has been killed?" What is the difference? Is this saying that it can be like the Near-Genocide Ending? I'm considering deleting this line, as it seems goofy.Passionlip (talk) 21:34, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

As the sentence says, the ending is identical. The point of the sentence is to indicate that some people may refer to "No Mercy" in the literal sense of meaning that Neutral branch, where you never use the Mercy option, rather than the common interpretation of meaning the Genocide Route. But, it's a good point: we're here to document the game, not the fandom terminology. Calling it a "variant" is also weird. I would prefer the sentence be kept but modified for clarity, but wouldn't oppose its removal. -Jacky720 (t|c) 21:37, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
