Heart Locket

The Heart Locket (JP: ハートのロケット) is an armor found in Asgore's Home. True to its name, it is a heart-shaped locket. It is referred to as "The Locket" during the Genocide Route. Its offensive counterpart is the Worn Dagger. It is the Neutral Route armor item associated with the fallen human.

The "Best Friends Forever" description alludes to the fallen human's relationship with Asriel, who also dons a heart-shaped locket in his God of Hyperdeath form. It also foreshadows the ending of the Genocide Route.

Outside of Undertale

The collector's edition of Undertale includes what resembles a physical version of the Heart Locket. It is a golden colored, heart-shaped locket that depicts the Delta Rune symbol. Inside it is the "Best Friends Forever" text engraved on the back of the lid, and a music box that plays Memory.

Trivia

• Considering the large statistical gap between this locket's counterpart, the protagonist likely does not know its real value and sees it as a generic locket. In contrast, the fallen human knows its true value and feels reunited with their Locket.
• Its shortened name in normal encounters has an arrow that points to the protagonist's SOUL in the item selection menu to reference the "Heart" part of its name.
