Cloudy Glasses

The Cloudy Glasses (JP: くもったメガネ) is an armor sold by Gerson in Waterfall for 30G. Its offensive counterpart is the Torn Notebook, and it is associated with the purple SOUL.

Compared to other armor, it grants the second lowest defense when equipped. However, it compensates by increasing the SOUL's invulnerability frames during an encounter. When paired with the Torn Notebook, it almost guarantees the protagonist only receives one or two hits from an enemy attack.

Additional uses

• Since the Cloudy Glasses's sell price is higher than its buy price, it can be resold for more GOLD. This is more efficient than selling duplicates of Dog Residue at the Tem Shop.
• The Cloudy Glasses's INV gives distinct effects when fighting against Sans:
  • It grants one frame of invulnerability every four frames, similar to other INV-boosting items.
  • It slows the protagonist's HP drain rate when hit by KARMA inflicting attacks.

• The item check for the Cloudy Glasses explains what INV means in parentheses after the initial statistic check to help players understand its use (since INV could be misinterpreted as "inventory", for added inventory space.)
  • The Torn Notebook was also meant to have an explanation on what INV means when checked on, but it is unused.
• The info text in-game for the Cloudy Glasses lists 6 DF. This is incorrect, as it actually has 5 DF. Likewise, the info text states that it increases INV by 9, but this cannot be proportional to the supposed 6 INV from the Torn Notebook; the Cloudy Glasses increase INV by 30 frames (1 second), and the Torn Notebook increases INV by 15 frames (0.5 seconds).
