Undertale Wiki:Users

From Undertale Wiki

Users on Undertale Wiki have several different access levels. This page lists regular user access levels, whereas staff members and higher access levels are listed over at Project:Staff.

Temporary users

Temporary users did not create an account before making their first edit, so an account was automatically created for them. Their username is in the format ~YEAR-NUMBER (unregistered), and their session expires after 3 months, after which they lose access to their account (but may create another one by editing again). If you intend to edit for longer than a week, it is recommended you create an account. Temporary users have access to:

Users

Users are fully logged in users identified with a non-temporary username and password. In addition to what temporary users can, users can additionally:

  • participate in Discussions (with a verified email),
  • move pages and files,
  • upload and reupload files, and
  • view the abuse log.

Autoconfirmed users

Autoconfirmed users are users who have been on the wiki for at least 3 days and made 10 edits, or verified their email address. In addition to what regular users can do, autoconfirmed users can also:

  • edit semi-protected pages,
  • skip captcha when editing pages, and
  • propose new OAuth consumers.

Trusted users

Trusted users are not considered part of the wiki's staff. They are users unaffected by the wiki's abuse filters, able to view some of the filter hits, can rollback changes quickly, and whose edits are automatically marked as patrolled in recent changes. This group is usually given to trusted users who have been on the wiki for a decent amount of time, and whose abuse filter hits are usually false positives. Administrators periodically look for the wiki's active users and assign this user right, or in case someone is regularly being caught in abuse filters.

Given the amount of users in this user group, they are best viewed through the Special page for it.

Bots

Bots are accounts made for quick automated edits across the wiki, usually using bot software such as AutoWikiBrowser or Pywikibot. Their edits are usually hidden from recent changes because they are repetitive and not noteworthy enough to review individually. If you are performing automated edits on the wiki, you may ask an administrator about temporarily receiving the bot user group.
