Undertale Wiki:About
The Undertale Wiki is a wiki that focuses on the independent role-playing game, Undertale developed by Toby Fox.
This wiki was originally founded by TechnicalIssues on June 13, 2013, which was roughly a week before the Kickstarter for Undertale was officially announced. The founder was only seen briefly in a thread on the OFF Wiki asking for help on how to design the wiki, then promptly abandoned the wiki for unknown reasons.
About two years later, when the full version of Undertale was finally released, this wiki was met with a wave of edits about the game. Unfortunately, this wiki did not actually have a form of administration managing it, so we naturally had waves of vandalism constantly occurring as a result of the game's popularity. The wiki got adopted by Velocity Chicken on October 24, 2015.
On March 26, 2025, there was a community vote posted on both the Undertale[1] Deltarune[2] Wikis for the wikis to move off of its previous host, Fandom. Voting was complete on April 3, 2025, for both Undertale[3] and Deltarune Wikis.[4] Much of it is citing bad user experience, lack of editorial freedom, and disagreeing on the sporadic AI Quick Answers that was visible to logged off readers on August 19, 2023 for both Undertale[5] and Deltarune[6] wikis. It moved together with the Deltarune Wiki, whose Chapter 3 and 4 got announced the same day as the wiki's move. It is now independently hosted by the wiki's staff.

| Description | Undertale is a role-playing video game developed and published by indie developer Toby Fox. In Undertale, the player controls a human child as they navigate the fictional Underground: a large, secluded region underneath the surface of the Earth. The inhabitants of the Underground are called "monsters", a diverse and intelligent group who have been banished from the Earth's surface following a war with humanity. The child interacts with many monsters on their quest to return to the surface. This takes place partly through dialogue, and partly in combat-like encounters where the player must make decisions on whether to kill or befriend each monster between brief bullet-hell segments. These choices affect the outcome of the game to a large degree, with dialogue and changing based on their decisions. |
