Why is machine-made content banned here?

According to the rules, low effort content isn't allowed. and it was stated:

Machine-generated content (such as AI art) also falls under this rule, so please don’t post it.

So, why exactly is this disallowed?
I believe that AI art is content requiring effort, as to generate a good result, you would have to meticulously type an extremely detailed prompt, which eventually pays off with the good image result. So, I think that AI art shouldn't entirely be considered low effort.

I think we should treat people that use AI with respect as well :)

  1. It is nowhere near comparable to the amount of effort required in legitimate human art
  2. AI scrapes off of content produced by real artists without permission nor credit
  3. AI is extremely environmentally unfriendly
  4. We do not want these forums filled with incessant slop

Okay, let's discuss each point in detail.

Even if that is true, sometimes in rare cases it wouldn't be. It can sometimes come down to trial and error like for example, your first prompt doesn't work well, so you keep tinkering until you make the result you want. So, maybe it may not be comparable to legit human art, but it at least requires significant effort.

Now it does scrape, BUT it doesn't copy it or ENTIRELY steal it. Think of it like the AI is seeing an art museum and taking inspiration from the artstyles of the paintings. Plus, the AI can't credit anyone because even if we wanted it, it's currently beyond AI capbilities

Can be, and it is true that it takes power. Nowadays like right now, it's not that energy-consuming (like chatting with chatgpt). However, it's more about tradeoffs, like sacrificing raw power for efficiency, but chatting with AIs doesn't immediately cause environmental damage, we can't just say one prompt can cause mass destruction.

Now, this is understandable. But, I think we can implement a policy for AI images where AI-generated images (if labeled as such) need to be evaluated.

I'm not sure what other lackluster counterpoints to put here

Also, to answer your question (in your bio), Deltarune is a game made by Toby Fox, the same guy who made Undertale. Deltarune is aimed towards Undertale players

It would be crazy if I had 176 edits on Deltarune Wiki and didn't actually know what Deltarune was

Oh wait-

So you do have 176 edits, pretty good I guess

But guess what?
I'm gonna send a machine generated image here, and no one will stop me :smiling_face_with_horns:

jk LMAO I would never

This entire website is completely environmentally unfriendly.

We’re not saying the AI should put credits in the images or anything, we’re just saying the companies should stop stealing content

The AI doesn’t find content by itself

LMAOOOOOOOO but why exactly?

This is a place designed for many Wikis, with no doubt if the AI consumption of material is so bad then we are too.

Plus, we as humans consume a lot of resources.

Does that mean our art should be banned for the amount of resources it takes us to have a conversation?

Nah. What about the rest of yall? Is this website eco-unfriendly?

  • Yes (who would choose this)
  • No

Where did @Volnar_The_Unforgiving’s comment go?

AI specifically has to have massive data centers

AI having a particular environmental impact is a recognized thing

I deleted it because I had a question and then I answered it

I have to have massive data centers in my brain

Your brain is pretty small and obviously isn’t as impactful while being more worth having compared to AI

I don’t want to kill you currently

Your brain is comparatively pretty small and unimpactful I mean

Not like generally speaking

So you’re just calling me useless?

Obviously not
