According to the rules, low effort content isn't allowed. and it was stated:
Machine-generated content (such as AI art) also falls under this rule, so please don’t post it.
So, why exactly is this disallowed?
I believe that AI art is content requiring effort, as to generate a good result, you would have to meticulously type an extremely detailed prompt, which eventually pays off with the good image result. So, I think that AI art shouldn't entirely be considered low effort.
I think we should treat people that use AI with respect as well :)
Even if that is true, sometimes in rare cases it wouldn't be. It can sometimes come down to trial and error like for example, your first prompt doesn't work well, so you keep tinkering until you make the result you want. So, maybe it may not be comparable to legit human art, but it at least requires significant effort.
Now it does scrape, BUT it doesn't copy it or ENTIRELY steal it. Think of it like the AI is seeing an art museum and taking inspiration from the artstyles of the paintings. Plus, the AI can't credit anyone because even if we wanted it, it's currently beyond AI capbilities
Can be, and it is true that it takes power. Nowadays like right now, it's not that energy-consuming (like chatting with chatgpt). However, it's more about tradeoffs, like sacrificing raw power for efficiency, but chatting with AIs doesn't immediately cause environmental damage, we can't just say one prompt can cause mass destruction.
Now, this is understandable. But, I think we can implement a policy for AI images where AI-generated images (if labeled as such) need to be evaluated.
I'm not sure what other lackluster counterpoints to put here
