Why I hate trans ralsei

YOU STILL HAVE THE CAKE, SIR

Well I personally don't because timezones

timezones mean it shows up

It's already 20.08 here for me
I'm writing this at half past midnight

I will also just flat-out say that the entire 'but it will mess up the balance of gender in the friendgroup/party!!!' as a reason for trans Ralsei to not be fine inspires a severe amount of dread in me from a 'have seen trans people put off transitioning/coming out due to being worried it would permanently alter the friend group dynamic' reasons. (ex: someone in an all girls group coming out as a trans man, closeted transfemme in an all Boys(tm) group being worried about coming out as transfemme nonbinary/a girl) >_>

And I also do not care about that as reasoning to begin with even prior to that, but it must be said.

/edit: I will also say that while I am not transfem I HAVE seen trans girls get the 'nooo you can just be a femboy wahhhh' response when they came out, so I'm more than a little ungenerous to any argument along those lines re: Ralsei.

I also really am more than a little bothered that a lot of arguments I've seen (not here. yet. you better not start.) have been going 'but it would mean The Only GNC Man Character is gone... oh woe...' and then I look to Blue, the ballerino who calls himself Mr. Butterfly and I go "????????"

Oh also here's my counterpoint for 'it'd ruin the trio!!'

It's then the trio of: cis (Susie. you can argue this though and be the strongest warrior, I would not mind), already transitioned (Kris), transitioning (Ralsei). blinks my eyelashes cutely

:snooze:

I would also say that within the Cafe conversations and conversations with Orange especially, not to mention the Festival itself both on normal and weird routings there's a metric ton of bringing up/discussing the topic of gender and identity In General.

I think divorcing the drink voucher scene from the context that this is the same chapter where Orange says it's 'obvious' Ralsei is 'projecting' after Ralsei apologizes to Orange about repeatedly saying it was 'obvious' she was a mouse and not a human/being condescending to her in the fight, after the Seth convo where we get a list of the Flower's gender identities even in a lighthearted fashion, and the secret boss being Pink/Maddie is doing a severe disservice to the discussion...?

okay nevermind, I’m totally on board with trans ralsei this makes sense
(not sarcasm.)

you rang?

Well, Kris and Chara are non-binary and wear the same green shirt with a yellow stripe, obviously because Asriel wears it he's non-binary.

ASRIEL wears it because he like… wants to remember chara or something like that

  1. Do you think that there is a bit of a distinction between the dress that's is extremely commonly associated with characters who have either issues/arcs related to body image/presentation/self-determination within dialogue and as a direct result carries that motif baggage, and the shirt that already has an extant meaning within the text (kids wearing striped shirts).
  2. My Asriel gender opinions are too powerful for this board so I shall not speak them. :gersonlaugh:

nah Chara wears it because of hand me downs
DUH

ass reel wears it because he hates chara confirmed

RC: whenever someone talks about "ralsei being trans makes it so the cast doesn't is mostly girls" I can only think about this image

…and Jax only made it worse
(get it because trans jax hah)

I mean that's just my family life
(Oldest of all child relatives and one of 2 boys and there are 6 girls)

middle child here, yeah you seem like an oldest sibling person, you give off that vibes.

Not only that but just oldest period
Oldest cousin siblings
I was the oldest in the friend group but I'ma be real here I still am with the jokes we make
