Frisk makes it to the spike puzzle
Toriel:So, could you hold my hand? I will guide you through this one.
Frisk:Wait, I thought you said I was supposed to solve this one!
Toriel:I did say that… but I didn’t know this one was the one with the deadly spikes.
Frisk:Wait, those are real spikes?! Why do you have those?
Toriel:…I was not the one that put those spikes there. Before this place became ruins, it was designed to try to keep humans out. But, not to worry, hold my hand, and you’ll be safe, a few of the spikes will lower as you approach, and I know which ones do!
Frisk:Wait, if you didn’t make these, how did you become-
*Perhaps you’ll find out later on. Toriel doesn’t seem like she wants to talk about that.
(*Toriel goes the wrong way and hits a spike, taking damage… she ends up having to heal herself with green magic*)
(Backstage)
*Guys? Are you kidding me? Why did you use REAL spikes?! Also, HOW in the WORLD did our team not CATCH that?!
Undyne:Because WHY NOT?! The prop spikes SUCK! And I wanted Frisk to FEEL the threat of the spikes! Besides, green magic means we can heal anything that happens to us!
*… Undyne. What if FRISK stepped on them?
Undyne:Well, better have them take damage and reload than figure out the spikes aren’t real! If they stepped on it and took no damage, then…! They’d figure it out!
* Toriel’s demonstrated she’s been forgetful, and overly protective, we’d be able to play it off as her thinking they’re a lot more deadly than they actually are. Safety always comes first in production, are you looking for us to get SUED?!
Undyne: So that’s how it is… FINE THEN! I’ll just have to make everything cool another way, then! Fuhuhuhu!!
* …You go do that, just don’t diverge from the script, and no replacing props for the real deal. Or even messing with props that aren’t yours to begin with. Now, let me go back to Frisk.
