So uhh… spoilers for the weird route I guess…
So at the end of Chapter 4’s weird route, Kris gets a call from Carol stating that Noelle is excited to see them at the festival, and probably like most I was confused on why Noelle would want to go, seeing as what happened during the beginning of the route. but as I was reading the wiki I saw this
and that’s when I remembered something, the ability for the Thorn Ring is called “Trance“, and seeing as the player made Kris stab the thorn (ring) into Noelle’s finger, I bet that it put Noelle into a trance to continue going along with whatever the SOUL/player says. also I would like to note that while most dark world items originate from items found nearby the lightworld, the Thorn Ring doesn’t have an explanation as to why it appears in the light world, so this might be a stretch (if you so want, it sounds a bit “weird“) but I feel like the Thorn Ring does originate from the thorn in the lightworld, but the thorn originates from the Thorn Ring in the dark world, so the thorn can still put Noelle in a trance even in the light world

I think, unless there’s some sort of thorn ring backstory that will be revealed in the future, that the thorn probably doesn’t have magical powers
I think Noelle’s state in the light world is probably at least somewhat psychological, it’s also a bit more compelling that way
If it has to do with something else too then it could be because of the whole soul piece thing that seems to be going on
Was I the only one that understood she was excited to see us at the festival because we screwed something up real bad?
I knew once Carol said that Noelle was "really looking forward to seeing [us]" at the festival, I knew that we did something that screwed her brain or fully brainwashed her
Possibly even left part of the SOUL in there, but that was just a theory I saw around (I don't fully think it's that but we'll see)

I mean I don't subscribe to that theory
But that's pretty much just my take on it. We fricked something in her brain up really bad by re-equipping the ThornRing. And now she's under our control.
I honestly just think she’s just trying to closer to us.
She did say thank you when you think of her instead of Susie.
