Yes! These are two wholly separate characters and the game makes a ginormous effort to show that; it's framed as a major part of Pink and the ghost as characters. The fight is (at least to me!!) can come across as an internal between alters in a system (as in, a person with dissociative identity disorder, tulpas, or something similar). Of course, it is framed moreso as a trans allegory as well...there's a lot to it, and putting the two into one page would be a disservice to that narrative. The ghost saying "We! Are! Pink!!" is...essentially, the whole reason to have two pages, they are two characters that have their own agency, but are bound into the horror of sharing one, and having to live with that. It's a reflection of Kris, in a way.
Even beyond that...
Pink is a doll that wants to try and date to find their perfect someone. She has had some fairly horrific experiences with the FRIENDs(?) and transmits that to Kris. She has feelings for Kris (or more accurately, the SOUL) after the fight. When put under too much pressure, she smokes, gets scared, and doesn't really know what's happening. They add "mew" to sentences.
The ghost is, well, a ghoul that is afraid of the doll dating because they're scared of losing a body they believe represents their form best. They suffer from major image issues, anxiety, and are easily angered. They have their own speech pattern of repeating things thrice, essentially being the Mad Dummy ghost.
There's a lot more to it of course, but covering them as distinct characters can only help the wiki and its info (and thus why the others deserve splitting...but that's neither here nor there).
I can get behind them having separate pages. When I initially made this thread, all the info on the ghost half of Pink was in the main Pink page, with the Irritable Ghost page only going over her Light World appearance. As it stands I think the page could still use more work, but the main issue that made me think the pages should be merged has been addressed. Rather than merging the pages I think the Irritable Ghost page should just be renamed "Pink's Ghost" or "Pink (Ghost)" or something.
I also want to add, I am well aware of the plural and trans coding of the character, as I fall into both categories. This wasn't a suggestion made in ignorance, but rather, of experience. To defend my prior logic for them being two halves of one character, even when the two make up at the end and agree to compromise on their desires, The ghost still refers to the body as herself with "Oh me, let's never be apart again!" and the two still get treated as a unit, they're both Pink. Sometimes with plurality, alters regard themselves as part of a whole rather than two people in one body, I don't think the plurality allegory is at odds with them both being treated as two halves of the same character.
Unrelated, but why do we do that for "underlings" like the Dummy Minions in the Mad Dummy page or the spiders in Muffet's page? It doesn't really add much and, if they needed additional information that doesn't warrant a whole page, couldn't they just have a small section talking about them?
I think that's a good point, my main concern is how would Pink's page be handled, since both of them are extremely connected to the Pink persona, however, I can see this helping the coverage of both of them if done correctly.
They are strongly connected, but distinct beings. I think the way Pink's Ghost is handled right now is fine - you have the Light World information that would be weird to have on Pink's page (as the body is a distinct being!!), as well as the boss fight appearance that could be expanded further (e.g. How the ghost reacts to flirting, etc).
This part:
Later, she appears in the Flower King Dark World as the Shadow Crystal boss. She possesses the Darkner form of the Mew Mew figure and takes the form of Pink, and can be battled after purchasing the MysteryKey from the Shop at the Cliffs to unlock the Pink Door in Flower Castle.
Is obviously insufficient for Pink's ghost. It doesn't detail how they control the body, how they react to the flirting, when they appear (which would merit a screenshot!), among other things. Maybe the Undertale section could be expanded ever so slightly...
That's really the only issue the page has tbh? It's pretty good, I'd say. A move to "Pink's ghost" could be fine, but a merge feels wildly inappropriate considering how distinct they are. Pink's ghost existed before the boss fight as a distinct being and has a life outside of the Dark World. We don't even know if they stay merged after the Fountain is sealed (which, despite the unused content, I would find doubtful, but it isn't confirmed anyway, so let's put a pin in that!).
I'd say Pink's page is fine as-is because Pink as the resultant hybrid between the ghost and the body is the boss. Perhaps Pink's Body is what warrants a page, considering there's the Light World form on top of Asgore's truck and so on? The ghost says "We are Pink" after all.
There's probably more to talk about, this is just what's on my mind right now. I think the issue is the Pink page conflates a lot whilst presenting as a unified being when the whole point of the fight is they aren't and need to compromise.
imo it doesn't make sense to have the article called "Pink's ghost" considering the ghost also appears in other chapters without Pink. although it's true there could be better titles than "irritable ghost". maybe one day Toby will reveal what the ghost's name is
She introduces herself as pink, without input from her body, thus id say pink is the name she chose for herself and thus would be appropriate for her article (as Pink’s ghost, since Pink is both Pink (the ghost) and her body as one, and two articles being named pink would be confusing)
I meant it more in the sense of how groups like Elnina and Lanino and Sweet Cap'n Cakes are all covered in one page about both the group as a whole and its individual members.
The Weather and Sweet Cap'n Cakes would discuss the group as a concept and what that group means. This is not uncommon on wikis nor to the Deltarune Wiki itself; I'd say the Trashy Trio is a gold standard for how to handle this. That arrangement was forced because they were distinct characters beforehand, but I think that's how the others should have been done in the first place.
Elnina and Lanino's pages can discuss the characters as, well, themselves. Boss fight HP in the infobox, with a main article thing for a boss fight header. This gives an opportunity to discuss the characters themselves; how about Elnina absolutely loving Miss Mizzle and Lanino getting jealous? Plus, Elnina implies she still likes Rouxls Kaard, but Lanino doesn't really feel the same. I'm Elnina's biggest fan and think she's awesome and cool, but don't care much for Lanino at all, so when I read the Elnina & Lanino page that's giving me irrelevant information. See what I'm getting at? Everyone has a favourite character.
As for Sweet Cap'n Cakes, you'd have the same principle; main page discusses the underground band that does microtracks like it's Warioware Inc or something. Now unfortunately, I do...not care for these characters broadly, but you can totally talk about Cap'n as a sweet talker and K_K as constantly talking like he had a lobotomy. You see Sweet doing some unique stuff later on that would be incredibly awkward to put on the Sweet Cap'n Cakes page too. Doesn't he conduct Tasque Manager at some point, or am I crazy? I guess I am writing paragraphs about page management for a video game wiki, so there's some crazy there anyway.
P.S. Re naming the Lanino & Elnina page "The Weather", it is a bit conjectural, but I'd do anything to avoid the unimaginable cringe of Lanino & Elnina as a motherpage, then Lanino and Elnina individual pages. Please understand. I would pay this wiki's server costs for a year if it meant avoiding that.
Re this, perhaps Pink (Ghost) and Pink (Body) can work but it's also a little bit cringe, and probably introduces more dialogues like this one than it helps with...
