Jevilstail or Devilsknife?

Which is better the jevilstail or devilsknife? Is there something with the same defense as jevil stail?

I'd go with Devilsknife for the TP down on rudebuster

pretty valid. but anything with the same df as jevilstail?

Devilsknife reduces the cost of Rude Buster from 50 TP to 40 TP, which may help you beat the Knight in Chapter 3. After that, I've been told it's not any better.

Yeah I was gonna use it for the knight but I mainly do pacifist so that's about it. I have used jevilstail before and its good because I was on a pacifist route.

I could change it out for justice axe in chapter 4.

Jevilstail is much better as devilsknife just gets replaced by the justice axe or whatever it’s called.
Also if ur doing pacifist ur locked into Jevilstail

That's why I'm trying to find something better than the jevilstail or something that has the same stats as it.

I decided I will do Devilsknife since I could use the shadow mantle on the knight. I always put the jevilstail on Susie so I could probably get better defense on Kris or ralsei and maybe get something better for Susie?

Jevilstail has 2 attack, 2 defense, 2 magic. As far as I can tell, there are no other items with the same stats. You can get a Princess Ribbon and a Mystic Band in Chapter 4 though. That'd give you 2 attack, 4 defense, 4 magic. (There's a billion other combinations, but you get the point.)

Yeah I was just thinking of the mystic band and princess ribbon.

If you’re doing pacifist though, you can’t defeat jevil by attacking. You have to spare him. Therefore you have to get jevilstail.

I'm not doing complete pacifist is what I thought of. I have done complete pacifists before like 4 times already (Beaten deltarune 4x) and I kinda want something different.

as we speak I am doing the jevil fight.

Oh okay, got it

I don't think that attacking Jevil or Spamton Neo ends a pacifist run. It's not like ACTing lets you recruit them any more than FIGHTing does, and the Devilsknife is just way better for the later FIGHT mandatory bosses.

I guess it really depends on whether you define "pacifist" as "hurt no one unless the plot requires me to" or as "lose no recruits". First one makes you feel good (probably), and the second one "may have minor effects on certain scenes in the story" (unless the DELTARUNE gameplay reminder cheatsheet is a psyop Toby made to conceal alternate endings).

I think he means getting all recruits

Not how it works i think, idk might be wrong and a different ending is achieved from SPARING all secret bosses (besides ERAM for obvious reasons)

I'd say it's more than just "lose no recruits." There is little difference between losing a recruit and just avoiding the encounters altogether.[1] "Recruit everyone" is a more apt description.

But I don't think the Shadow Bosses should count for a "pacifist" route regardless. Yes, defeating some bosses with violence does have consequences outside of the recruit system, but Jevil and Spamton are notably not among them. They join the party as an item in either case with no bitterness or resentment.
