I think it would be good for the DR wiki to have a "Developers" page

I was looking at the Wanted Pages page, and I noticed that the Lanino and Elnina page has a single red link to “Nelnal”. There seems to be no pages for individual developers/artists right now, so I don’t think it would make sense to actually make that as its own page, but it did make me think it could be a good idea to have just one page that lists Deltarune’s known contributors? It has a lot more people working on it than Undertale did, and thanks to things like the developer interview in one of the newsletters we know specific parts of the game they’ve worked on, so there would be things to say on a page like this. Plus, it seems like the Undertale Wiki actually does have a similar page.

Yeah, we have a Developers page in plan for the New Pages Project, I just didn’t see it as super high priority. Do you want to work on something like that?

I could probably try making at least a draft of it on a sandbox page…Are there any specific priorities for what such a page should include? I think I have a pretty good idea of what it should have already (things each person worked on, approximately when/what chapter they joined development if that’s known) but if there’s anything else I should keep in mind then that would be good to know.

You can use the Undertale Developers page as a reference. But since that page lacks a lot of information (I placed a stub notice on it a couple of days ago) I think a better example would actually be the Developers page on the Undertale Yellow Wiki. I worked on it for quite some time, not only writing the content but also on information gathering, so I don’t expect that you’ll be able to create something to that extent for Deltarune developers very soon, but it works good as a reference on what such a page should include.

As a general note, try to have references for claims on what each person worked on, since this is something we have to verify through mostly external sources - you can see examples in the Template:Cite documentation.

I’ve made a sandbox page for now (It currently only has a Toby Fox section and a very very barebones Temmie Chang one, but I’ll work it on it more.)

I’m wondering if you think it would be a good idea to organize the page by general roles in development? Like having a section for programmers and a section for artists, and then subheadings under those for each developer. I just thought of this since if I go in order of how contributors are listed in the credits, then Kanotynes should be the first person listed after Temmie, but that seems kind of off to me since they only did character designs for the first chapter and that seems to have been where their contribution to the game ended. If I could put them under an “Artist” or “Character Designer” section then I think that would feel a little more normal.
Though the problem I can kind of see with that idea is that it becomes complicated if someone did more than one thing in development, like a programmer who also worked on art. I’m not sure if there’s currently any cases of this on the Deltarune team other than Toby himself though.

On UTY, I sorted them based on how apparently important they were to development. Like, you can see the director at the top, then two guys who we know did a lot of work, then the writer, then other active developers, then people who we don’t have too much information for, and other developers in the end. I did this specifically because of the problem that you mentioned (there were people who did multiple things). I guess we can apply something similar for Deltarune? Sort based on how much we know they did, that is.

I have been making good progress on my sandbox page! I still don’t have everyone listed under “Main Team” in the Chapter 2 credits, which I would probably consider the minimum for making it into a proper page, (that and adding the music collaborators) but I have gotten pretty far. (I also ended up writing it with that “Developers are subheadings sorted under what they worked on” format, since it was most convenient for navigating the page as I work on it, but it does seem a little odd already…There’s a good chance I’ll still rearrange it eventually.)

I did run into an issue though; it seems like several of Nelnal’s tweets that were cited as sources elsewhere on the wiki have been deleted, or are otherwise inaccessible to me (I don’t have a Twitter account so that may be a contributing factor), including the one where they said they designed Lanino and Elnina. Archives of that particular tweet don’t work, because it seems like it was falsely labelled as age-restricted. Is there any alternative source I could use for that information?

I had the same issue when editing on Spamton Sweepstakes before. You could use Nitter to view the tweets yourself, but I’m not sure what’s the best way to archive them. I guess leave them as they are right now since people with accounts can use them to view the content.

Also, great progress on the page! You can move it to mainspace whenever you think it’s ready. It doesn’t have to be 100% complete, you can leave a stub notice with whatever you think needs to be added. If you have time, you can then also create redirects and/or search other articles to see if something else should link to these developers.

I’ve been searching for Sarah O’Donnell sources for a while too, by the way. Her Twitter account is protected, but her bio does say she ported Undertale to Xbox. She also has a Bluesky account and an itch.io page, but not sure what you can find there. I also remember a Toby tweet mentioning her contributions to UT/DR… a few weeks ago I looked through Toby’s Twitter history and couldn’t find that.

I remember seeing that tweet (or one like it) years ago, but I’ve basically scoured the ends of the earth at this point and haven’t found it. I guess it must have been deleted…
The Bluesky and itch.io pages are good finds though! When I was just searching her name all I was able to find were random people that coincidentally had the same name…

I think I have the page just about in a state where I think it’s good to move to the mainspace, but I’ll go back and add what I can to the Sarah O’Donnell section since you showed me these. And then once it’s in place I can probably make some redirects for it.
