Coverage of monsters from the Sword Route

I'm not certain either, not the best with Original Game code.

Strangely, it doesn't seem like anyone elsewhere online detailed this information either.

Yeah I checked, the exp info is just not specified for any enemy. I assume that means it’s just 1 for every enemy.

Very strange! Then the only "enemies" that would have a unique value must be HERO_AXE and HERO_SCARF, unless LV gain scales by board. Iirc LV is forced up in that case, though. Weird that's given a variable.

Yeah it’s odd, I think that HERO_AXE and HERO_SCARF just set your LV, but I have to check.

I think IK how HERO_AXE and HERO_SCARF exp’s work. LV exp needed does scale with boards, every other board specifies the EXP needed except the City Board. So I’m thinking that in the City Board the EXP needed is set to 1.

I hope I'm not too late to add my thoughts on this, but isn't making whole articles for each individual thing in the Original Game too overkill, specially considering how little importance they have in the overall plot of Deltarune? I understand making a distinct page for these enemies rather than being just a list in the article on the Original Game, but imo a single page with information on all these little things would be more than enough. This approach you guys are taking is just going to bloat the number of articles in the wiki.

A wiki is a searchable resource for everything relating to a given subject; given that, what does "bloat" mean, really? You can browse by category, throughlinks, and page names. In that case, then, the bloat is not an issue, as "bloat" normally refers to cases where it becomes hard to browse. The purpose of a page is to direct information for a specific subject, which these are doing; most of these pages are adding information that the current pages cannot readily accommodate. If you think there is chaff, then as I referred to earlier, items like Signery and the dust piles would warrant removal, which is, in my opinion, undesirable. The Original Game itself is clearly not covered sufficiently.

The Original Game page as it stands is a massive information silo. Each page has justified itself perfectly way in the same manner seen on other wikis that involve JRPGs. I think I've done a perfectly good job showing how and why these are useful - and usefulness in any capacity is a fairly common standard for wikis (e.g. SmashWiki enjoys detailing stage hazards, even though they are not commonly very important; ZeldaWiki has a page for Stairs and mild enemy variants; MarioWiki has pages for even tiny things).

Have you seen the pages? One page with all the info would be excessive bloat.

We want to move on from that, anyways, that's why we split out all the /NPCs pages.

Per large consensus, the community wanted solo small pages like pair of eyes over list ones.

And having stuff like spearboss on a list page won't work; there's too much information.

The thing is, these are separate enemies at the end of the day, with many little quirks and strategy that could be applicable. As of now the list on the OG Game only describes these enemies on the absolute surface level, with no strategy or any little quirks mentioned. And as mentioned by Papyrus, enemies like Spearboss have so much info that putting them on a list would actually increase the amount of bloat on that page.

Also these are separate characters, why shouldn’t we make pages for separate enemies that have gameplay tied to them, while having pages for NPCs like the Flowery spoofs or many small NPCs like the pair of eyes, when they have nowhere close to the amount of gameplay, appearances and relevance tied to the OG Game enemies.

It's been a while, and the most important pages are completed.

@大佬233 @MMK-001 @Bowl_of_Curry
Think it's time to ask the admins if we can mainspace them?

Sure, definitely. The current pages could totes be mainspaced. Following that I think I want to look into other bits (e.g. Candy page for mechanics, Legend of Tenna infobox...). There's still tiny bits, but what exists should absolutely be sent over.

https://deltarune.wiki/w/Candy_(Original_Game)

Made a page for the Candy and accidentally put it in mainspace but bleeeh whatever lmao

Only thing missing there is how much the HP is restored I can't find it for the life of me

Once stuff is mainspaced, I'd say it's worth looking long and hard at the FRIEND page. It's probably plausible to use the Chapter 3 section for enemy behaviour, or do a similar thing to the TV Dinner page and include a segment on how FRIEND functions as an enemy in the Original Game. Both of these seem to be plausible solutions to the problem of covering it properly; I'd lean towards the TV Dinner one. "In the original game" -> "FRIEND is an enemy in the Original Game..." followed by analysis of behaviours, Candy drop rates, etc. Can have a cute little infobox and everything.

I think we could just make a separate page for the FRIEND enemies, something like "FRIEND (Original Game)" so we don't clutter the page with additional information that is useless to readers that are only interested in the character.

I am totally for that and would very prefer it, on the same basis of stuff like Tenna, Pippins, and Rouxls having game counterpart pages (since stuff like HERO_AXE are clearly separate entities, the others should be too...right?). However, I am open to discussion on it, there were some people who disliked the idea before.

Alright, so @KockaAdmiralac can the pages be published?

I don't know if those are really necessary. Yes they are most likely separate entities but

  1. We don't really know that for sure.
  2. They are always displayed as extentions of their regular counterparts. (same personality, same speach pattern, etc.)

Stuff like Lancer, Elnina, Lanino, and FRIEND have unique functionalities that justify having separate pages, while the rest don't.

At the very least, the Tenna one is, because in the City Board at least, one Tenna reacts to the what the Dark World one says. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDbdFVZLpgI

But of course, it's unused, so I suppose it can be ignored...

I'll make a Tenna page as a model at the very least for what this could look like.

https://deltarune.wiki/w/User:大佬233/Tenna_(Game)

Here's a model of what that page could look like - it seems distinct enough to be considered given the amount of small details there are (e.g. Tenna taking control of Game-Tenna, Game-Tenna breaking character, maxing out LV even though you're already maxed, monologues, etc). There's merit in it.

https://deltarune.wiki/w/User:大佬233/Navbox_tlot/doc

and here's what the navbox would look like. seems useful enough.

the doom board isn't a page but i think the link to the music is ok..? probably wont kill anyone. maybe. possibly. potentially. could.
