I haven’t really considered it before, I was on “They’re genuinely on the same team as the Knight” at first…
And I still think that’s likely. But, I’d say the one of them having someone Kris loves held hostage to make a strong narrative, Kris doesn’t seem to like the bunker the Knight hides out at. Dess probably went missing in the bunker. And I can absolutely see the Knight holding Dess hostage like that (unless they’re Carol, then she wouldn’t.)
I would say the Knight has a way to get rid of the soul or atleast claims that. I mean, if your movement, your options, your every little bit of life is always controlled by something that it began to effect your friends, you would do anything to get rid of the source. Probably the reason why Kris tried to help Spamton at first, to achive freedom.
^ Very good point. I don’t think the Knight has a method of doing so, but I see them lying and saying they do if it would get Kris on their side.
What makes me skeptical of that are the hints that Kris was aware of the dark worlds and the soul since well before the start of the game (Romb mentioning Kris bringing Queen and cards to play a sort of game with, it’s implied this is them setting up the personalities of the Darkners we later find in the game proper, I do have a theory on this coming up so stay tuned)
Kris is probably a full-on partner, not a subordinate that doesn’t quite know what they’re getting into. The nature of why it is, we don’t know, but I doubt they were working off of false information. The only things we can really say they didn’t see coming was Weird Route (which wasn’t supposed to happen anyway) and the Chapter 4 ending (Toriel, Sans…)
Nope! Romb is just a misspelling of Ramb (I even think one of the TV-World natives calls him Romb because nobody really cares about him and they forgot his name)
Fun fact: “romb” happens to be the Russian spelling of “rhombus”. I initially interpreted “Ramb” as an intentional misspelling, but obviously it doesn't make sense because he's not even rhombus shaped.
yeah, but that timeframe would've been crazy. KRIS only had the SOUL since the beginning of chap 1, and my only guess would be that the knight approched Kris during the night while we were in the cage, and convinced them that they could get rid of the soul, but how much could Kris have hated them by then, I mean, they got them tons of new friends, and a whole adventure. plus, its only been 1 day. I feel like Kris wouldve hated the soul starting in like early chap 2 when he realized that it wasn't leaving
