I thought that the golden flowers Flowey was based upon and buttercups that Chara consumed are different flowers? Isn't that stated in-game somewhere?
I don't think it's stated in-game, but Flowey doesn't look like a Buttercup and Buttercups are yellow anyways and I guess I just never made the connection...
Yeah I know there’s a difference I just like the idea where Kris just damn takes the Golden Flowers assuming they’re buttercups and plants the rest when realizing they’re too sticky, annoy Ralsei with flowery’s or else.

I would frequently fight with people over this since before Deltarune came out. But after Chapter 4, I lost all of my previous confidence, and it's all because of one sprite that we see for less than a second:
Susie's eyes glow red while she is making a Fountain, which we know requires determination. I can no longer rule out determination being red.
That is a really good point, though with the things that i think potentially could represent I admit i could see other options 
Deltarune Determination is different from Undertale determination.
