In my opinion, Bonus boss is much better. One, it rolls off the tongue better with the alliteration. Two, the Knight isn't really a secret. Sure, they're optional to beat, but they have no requirements to beat or encounter.
Bonus and Shadow Crystal being used as two separate terms is what I prefer.

they are a bonus boss. singular. like as a unit. i guess they could be considered a secret boss, but i wouldnt say that
the mike room is always just called a 'special room' in external-to-the-game stuff. off the top of my head: this newsletter, and this newsletter. so i think 'special boss' has a bit more basis than either of those. but 'bonus' just feels more natural to me, and it gets the same point across anyway

There are 3 sets: Secret Bosses, Shadow Crystal Bosses, and THE WORLD REVOLVING leitmotif. Jevil, Spamton, and Hammer of Justice are in all 3 sets. Shadow Mantle is only in Secret Bosses. The Knight is only in Shadow Crystal Bosses. Mike is at the intersection of Secret Bosses and THE WORLD REVOLVING leitmotif.

I was about to say that it doesn't count because it's only mentioned in the soundtrack, but now that I think about it, I use the same logic to justify calling Round 3 of TV Time "Doom Board". You're probably right after all.
