So, with Chapter 3's Zelda-style minigames, especially the optional ones, we have a player controlling Kris controlling a character in the minigame who looks like Kris. For clarity's sake, I don't think we can just call the minigame character also Kris... what should we? "Mini-Kris" is descriptive but a little silly... "Blazer" would be a cool Dragon Blazers reference, but it's a bit of a stretch to say that's the intended name... I'm leaning toward "the hero" even if their actions aren't necessarily heroic.
The file name of the holder of the Shadow Mantle (probably mini-Knight) is “eram” if I recall correctly. So perhaps every name is an inverted version of something about the character? (eram is backwards mare, mare as in nightmare…) Alternatively, we can use the names in Dweller’s Empty Path for the cameos of the Delta Warriors there, since that was also an 8-bit style game… but maybe not, that could cause confusion since I don’t think these are the same characters from Dweller’s Empty Path (Dweller’s Empty Path is much closer to the Egg World for Chapter 3, and also it’s not the same continuity anyway)
The Forbidden Path is the 8-bit version of the Weird Route. Path/Route, Forbidden/“Wrong”/“Weird”. We also know the Sword Route is internally, well, the Sword Route. So, perhaps we name them off of RPG classes that define the characters? Fighter, witch, bard, cleric? …There’s probably better ideas somewhere, though, let’s see what else people come up with.
I see. Right, looking into it, ERAM was the theme, not the character. Say, though, the game is a game inside the dark world. Which makes the characters potentially darker-ners. Maybe that boss actually IS the shadow mantle given form by the super-dark? …Actually no that’s not right we know the next layer of darkness is just the Titans. There goes that potentially interesting possibility.
