Wait you know how in undertale the monsters lost the imprisoning war and were thus sequestered underground, what if in deltarune the reason they appear on the surface but still without many humans is due to them winning against the humans. Does anyone agree with this theory by chance?
no you're wrong and stupid and im revoking your copy of deltarune
Kris exists on the surface. Other humans also exist on the surface, as evidenced by the "book for monsters on how to care for humans" and the "monsters 4 humans in your area" popup.
UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE are sister games, not taking place in the same universe.
We're stomping all over your theory and leaving it in the rain.
Everyone, swoon this user.
It's called a parallel story so probaly (and Kris was the only survivor)
OH WAIT I CAN FABRICATE SOME LORE
After the monsters were victorious, the humans were sealed underground. However, 1 human survivor was found, helpless and alone, but instead of finishing the human off, they decided to treat the human as their own. The human was given the name "Kris" based on their weapon. Until now, nobody knows the human's gender
Also toriel and asgore adopted kris BEFORE the war ended, thus kris was allowed to stay above-ground! (Just a personal theory to this theory)
And the barrier being made by MONSTERS to trap the HUMANS would be why they dont have magic!
Or kris had just been adopted BEFORE the humans were sealed, same with a ton of OTHER humans!
Ok

It's a cool idea, but it's not true. Also, the Imprisoning War was a thing from Zelda, so it's a bit funny you're using the term here.
This is a good idea used in some AUs, though.
"If it works, don't change it"
The IMPROV WAR
"All of this, it just works."
- Todd Howard, the Bethesda guy or whatever
I believe the phrase "If it ain't broke don't fix it" is what you're thinking of
