What if its related to Jockington growing “the beard”?

“a beard” sounds normal.

“the beard” is ominous.

Also, its a prophecy about an angel, 3 heroes and the worlds end, so it wouldnt mention jockies beard unless its significant, right???

The Jockington panel might not be a true part of the Prophecy. If the Light World counterparts of the panels are the books of hymns found all over the church, then the one with Jockington might be just a doodle made by Catti on the corner of some page. This would explain why Jockington is referred to by name and why he is drawn as the cool 'S'.

I believe Jockington growing the beard does have a deeper meaning

An organikk in the Third Sanctuary in a secret location next to that prophecy says

Before the clock strikes midnight, the shadow will grow!
O, the shadow will grow, serpentine!
Even when the clock ran back, the shadow was growing!
A patch of shadow, slithering on, slithering on, serpentine!

This recontextualizes the “5 o’clock shadow” dialogue as more than just a joke, and rather ominous
