From the Forgotten Man's speech in chapter 3:
"HOLD YOUR BREATH, HEAD TO THE LEFT, AND COUNT BACKWARDS TO 100."
What does this mean? This hasn't happened yet, right? Considering we didn't do something like this to get the chapter 5 egg, it may be a hint that it was not the last time that we've seen the man, even if he wants us to believe otherwise.
I brought up this because I have seen absolutely no one mentioning it at all since chapter 5 released. A lot of people say something like "the man bid a heartfelt farewell to us". Which I very want to believe isn't true. Why would Toby waste time and resources to develop such an interesting secret obscure character to just have him hand out 5 eggs and disappear for the rest of the game? The only actual useful thing he did is reveal that Kris had violent tendencies in the past, which is great in itself but is definitely not enough to justify us never seeing him again.
Be on the lookout for some strange moment in chapter 6 that includes a countdown, even more than for the wheat in chapter 5. We'll meet him again, and maybe this time will actually be the final one.
Mayybee for a way to find him again that won't give us an egg but instead some lore? This has no evidence it's just a thought that could be cool
I mean, there is a place already where it makes sense to hold your breath, it just might happen in a different context on Normal Route, perhaps.
(I honestly think we'll still be taking a stop in some sort of water even on main.)
I’m not entirely sure what the "hold your breath" part of the quote means, but we have already gone left and counted to 100 in chapter 4.
Hold breath is a really funny one due to the weird spots where the phrase 'hold breath' keep coming up in noelle blog posts and funny knight stuff.
