Something I noticed while looking at some sprites of the end of the Roaring Knight fight is this:
It looks to me like Susie is struggling, while the Knight isn't even fazed. And that got me thinking. The Knight is clearly holding back during the fight with us in Ch3, likely because killing us isn't their main goal. That being said, once we begin to prove a threat, they (or Kris, whatever) just swoon us, and we can't do anything about it.
So I don't think the Roaring Knight is an enemy that can be defeated by force, at least not in the normal route. I think we're going to either need more people on our side who will help us out in the final battle against them, or we'll have to use Trickery and Smarts to defeat them, not force.
After they discover we leveled up, have better equipment, a Black Shard, and in another file we have Snewgraves(they haven't changed anything since Chapter 3)
Yes, but I think the Knight was absolutely caught off guard here
Both characters are shaking because they are pushing against each other, it’s just that Susie is coming down from above
I don’t think it looks like one is struggling more than the other
Susie attacks the Knight while it’s staggered here, and it fails to flawlessly block her blow, breaking its sword
I think this is sort of what makes it angry enough to stop holding back
