my pixel art is more than a bit weak, and also one of these days there's going to be a really bad fic involving a character who is obviously a knockoff of The Grinch who is in love with flowery or something floating around online somewhere and everyone will be retroactively grateful that I didn't contribute anything to projects. my grink curse.

sometimes... an in-joke among friends becomes too strong.
'the grink' is my rory nite. spawned from the idea that 'if rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and asgore (santa claus) exist in town, there should be a knockoff of The Grinch.'
and then there was a joke about Grinch Knight (joke on the special 'halloween is grinch night).
upon attempting to place funny grinch in town, it became obvious the only feasible place is either deep in the forest, close to the graveyard, or unfortunately behind the police tape, giving them plot relevance to bad 'that day' issues.
/edit : also technically they're not in love with flowery at the start. they think flowery brainwashed asgore in chapter 5 and are throwing rocks at him.

see, that part makes sense, but then I realized I accidentally wrote the grink to be plot-relevant to Asgore's conspiracy board due to where I placed them.
and I also used them for jokes related to 'Flowery is actually scary as fuck conceptually and I think people with no experience with dark worlds would think Asgore was being mind-controlled or something, evil rpg maker horror style'

the grink is a complicated figure with the publishing context of why 'how the grinch stole christmas' was made.
Geisel's (that's dr. seuss name) wife was sick at the time and he was very sick of the commercialization of christmas. There's a lot of small granular details like that.
that being said he is quite nasty in Halloween is Grinch Night + The Grinch Grinches the Cat in The Hat, though the latter has some deep lore about the grinch's mother dying.

Anyway the important thing that must be clarified : the grink actually initially is scared as fuck of Flowery because the grink exists also to kind of poke fun of the 'oc who instantly is fine with everything that happens in dark worlds' archetype. they are simply Not That.
asgore wants to solve the tragic december incident and meanwhile their neighbor is trying to throw rocks at flowery who is dodging effortlessly
the grink would be going 'BACK FOUL BEAST. RELEASE THE MIND CONTROL ON ASGORE.' etc etc

evil green cat grinch ceo of doomed relationships and throwing rocks at flowery because they think he's an otome game yandere because he's blonde. 'WHAT DO YOU MEAN' there's a lot of otome games with a guy with blonde hair who seems nice but turns out to be evil and fucked up. it's an archetype. combined with the asgore 'Haha Yes This Is My Best Friend, Who I Know' playing along stuff + Flowery's falsified stats, I don't think anyone should react to Flowery with no context for dark worlds in any way OTHER than screaming and trying to attack him.
Flowery without context for Flowery unfortunately reads as either just a general evil otome game character, or flat out like a weird anglerfish lure for something. Witch's labyrinth. Rebellion story. etc. It's actually worse if you realize he's a flower because 'evil friendly flower who pretends to be a beautiful person who wants to kill you' is just as common of an archetype in video games and media.
