The "Delta" in Delta Rune

(Not sure if this is the right place to put it here, but because of redirect shenanigans, the "Talk" button on the Delta Rune page only leads to the general Deltarune discussion, which isn't related. Sorry if this is the wrong spot)

So, on the page for the Delta Rune, I tried to add that "Delta" in mathematics means "change over time", which reflects the prophecy being about the player and their actions in-game. It was reverted for "speculation and lack of noteworthiness".

I don't understand the thought process here. It's neither of those things.

It's not speculation that the prophecy is about the player. It's made pretty explicit in-game. The prophecy of the Delta Rune is about an entity who has seen the Surface coming to the underground and making it empty, either by freeing the monsters or killing everyone - which is exactly what happens during Undertale. If it's not about the player, what IS it about? Nothing else remotely like that happens except for what the player does. Heck, "Delta Rune" is an anagram of "Undertale", which is even more evidence it's about the events of Undertale.

It also doesn't lack noteworthiness. The prophecy is about a massive change to the underground, and saying "hey the prophecy's name also means change in a subtle way" is trivia by anyone's definition. And it's extremely likely Toby was aware that "delta" can mean "change", considering it's commonly taught in high school/college level math courses.

The anagram is the more significant meaning, but I also don't think it's an accident that a prophecy about change includes the word "delta" in it.

Apologies for adding it to the page again when it was reverted once before - I totally forgot about that. Should've checked the page history and brought the discussion here before doing that, my bad.

Anyways, I just wanted to argue my point here. Thank you for reading.

All of the reasoning for "delta" in Delta Rune signifying change is speculative at best. Yeah, things change depending on the player's actions. So what? That happens in almost every story-based game. Why would Toby name the Delta Rune after this incredibly common element of every game that isn't at all specific to Undertale?

i think that delta just means delta, the fourth letter of the greek alphabet, being a traingle, meaning THREE heroez for each of the pointz and zidez
