SPAWN in Petal Dance?

I think I hear the same melody at the end of SPAWN (0:42 until the end) and Petal Dance (1:06 until the end). Is this a hallucination?

@Vexodus

Yeah i think it's probably there

please say that it doesn't means anything

It was just a hallucination. Someone on the Discord thread compared the two.

oki doki

i heard SPAWN too. its a very similar melody i think its intentional

everything was doing well until

what?

what does the Titan's children has to do with... well, just read the context of each.
remember a leitmotif means ideas and characters, not only a melody

What the wiki calls "leitmotifs" are actually just motifs. Most of them are leitmotifs, but not all.

could u give some examples?
i'm sure there are some but wanna hear them all

Hip Shop immediately comes to mind. Reading through the list, I'd also say that the following aren't leitmotifs:

  • Checker Dance, as it is used in Inappropriate Recycling
  • Uwa!! So, as it is used in Glowing Snow
  • Ghost Fight, as it is used in The Ol' Jitterbug

I mean hip shop is connected to shops
surprised you didn't mention don't forget
but yeah those others are all definitely just recurring motifs

Hip Shop only appears in one shop track: Hip Shop itself.

i mean its usage in green room is likely because of the ramb shop
and tv world and dump because of green room

Eh... sure.

There are many motifs that are only debatably leitmotifs. Don't Forget and The Holy may have a deeper meaning we just don't know yet. Rude Buster is used for battle themes often, but its usage in Lantern is hard to justify.

i personally just don't consider games' main motifs to be leitmotifs

Kinda hear it..? But at the same time it's kinda hard to say, not to mention it is a weird connection

If anything that part in Petal Dance reminded of Battle Against a True Hero, though that may be because of the trumpets more than the melody lol

The game's main theme can be used whenever Toby wants without being dispromoted
