Nah, you can just take your last save before beating Chapter 1 and reload it, go fight Jevil and/or get the egg, then re-beat King and finish the chapter

From Chapter 2 though you will have to restart fully

True, but I think the first method works fine

Also, a tip for when you start the Weird Route, right after getting Noelle but before leaving that room, make a save in the current file slot, and in a second one. That way you don't have to play Chapter 2 twice while getting perfect Weird Route and Non-Weird Route saves
