Unlike regular Ralsei, he usually is more isolated and quiet, mostly staying in his room and avoiding contact with the outside world and Castle Town. Lancer does most of Ralsei's work for the kingdom and that already puts enough pressure on Lancer. he still hangs out with Susie and Lancer but often just stands there agreeing with everything the two say in silence. he still tries to forget the fact he is a Titan and the Roaring is happening. But he just wasn't the same ever since Kris betrayed the team.

well there are more residents in Castle Town then just lancer, its usually a safe space to keep refuges they find of the roaring, Lightners and Darkners alike. and @Echoescreates is correct, the grand fountain does protect the Darkners in Castle Town
