Does Ralsei know about the thorn ring and it's abilities possibly? And if not, why was that his reaction, was he just disturbed by the concept of a ring of thorns?
Ralsei knows about the Weird Route, but pretends that he doesn't know. He may have kept quiet to avoid giving something away.

There are a number of potential reasons that Ralsei would say this, one of which just being that he wants Susie to be happy.
I think this is just Toby saying that this is a bad route, regardless of if there's a lore reason to Ralsei saying this.
