Normally, a pathfinding AI wouldn’t even be seriously considered, but thanks to the almighty Griffpatch, it can be done. I used his tutorial to build a pathfinder for Jackenstein. It was pretty hard to get completely working with the raycaster but I managed. Currently, Jackenstein pathfinds to you once every second and takes the optimal route. This actually ends up sorta balanced, but I would say his speed is a bit low, maybe I should change that later….
JACKROOMS WOOOOOOOOOOOOO
JACKROOMS TOMORROW
JACKSROOMS JUNE 19TH
Maybe add a save and load feature? I know that may sound whack for this kind of game, but I don’t mean it like that. When you get caught, you SHOULD STILL GO BACK TO THE FIRST LEVEL, but what about people who don’t have the time or want to quit? It would be quite upsetting to have to go all the way back to where you were after quitting.
TL;DR: add save feature, only implement for people who want to quit and save their progress, don’t add as a thing to make the game easier
Or maybe a difficulty selector that has 2 options: Easy and Hard. Easy autosaves the level you're on and resets you to there when you get caught, while Hard sends you all the way back to level 1.
I support this cause
Or maybe both, but you can't load in hard mode because if you could, then you could absolutely just save at every level, reload the game after dying and load the save
what if dancing pumpkin mini enemies
OOOOOH
Jack REALLY liked that one
Yay, he doesn't get stuck hugging walls anymore
Hard mode would essentially be hardcore while easy would be more balanced
Is this gonna be a roguelike or something
It's Jackrooms
Basically that type of game where there's a labyrint, a
monster who is searching for
you, and the
Player.
idea: third person mode :swoon:
No
It is third person already if you just close your eyes and imagine it is
what are eyes
