A while ago (like a few months) I heard the name "Man on the Internet" come up when people were posting The World Revolving lyrics. I listened to his[1] The World Revolving cover. I liked it.
It was not until today that I listened to any other ones that I noticed an issue. I listened to MotI's Black Knife. I disliked it for the exact reason I liked his TWR. What is that? Well, it's just because of how dense the lyrics are, with so many vocal tracks playing at once, so many lyrics being spoken at a given time later in the song. This is just because of the fact that MotI seems to feel the need to give every little dot and dash in the song a word to be sung to it, and it makes the song sound chaotic and hard to keep track of.
This style works for TWR because, well, that's how it's supposed to be. Jevil's insane tendencies make it just make sense for the song's lyrics to be a bit hectic.
For Black Knife, however, this just isn't the case. The Roaring Knight is a force to be reckoned with, an enemy in the most obvious way, but it is not chaotic or hard to keep track of at all.
After listening to Black Knife and determining this, I moved on to Hammer of Justice. I thought "Surely Gerson wouldn't have the same treatment. Surely he wouldn't just have a wall of words covering every bit of the song." I was wrong. Listening to GUARDIAN, I saw that it, too, had this problem.
This is just an issue I found in MotI's covers. I don't think a lyricization should always be that way.
I will soon make another post with my preferred lyrics to think of going to Black Knife, and hey, maybe at some point I'll even record it myself.
