The fandom is toxic), insane (Toby Fox is racist for not providing official Latin America translations), or incorrect/accidental/cleared-up (Undertale Yellow copyright dispute) entries. Also misspellings are not accidental, that's how they were quoted. Let me know if I messed up or missed something.

Halloween Hack - The rom hack made by Toby Fox in 2008 had a notorious piece of dialogue of Dr. Andonuts says "tl;dr: eat shit, faggots". Toby was 17 at the time.

Helen Keller Joke - Posted on Starmen.net in 2006, Toby said "hey helen keller, take a hold of my walking stick, and read the braille on my nuts, it says, "grope your way back into the kitchen and feel me a fucking sandwich"

Omocat - The Creator of Omori, Omocat, suffered controversy surrounding comments she made around children around 2012 - 2013 such as "hi just to be clear i love little boys" and "i love anime and everything problematic with it". In 2014 she released merchandise with the word "SHOTA" on it. Omocat was 22 at the time. Toby Fox has took inspiration from Omocat's drawings and has composed music for Omori, leading him to be dragged into it.

Vivziepop - Viviziepop has suffered multiple controversies including saying the N word on stream, transphobia, art referencing pedophilia, and workplace mistreatment. Toby Fox has collaborated with her on the Homestuck animated pilot in 2025, with Vivi animating it.

Andrew Hussie - The creator of the Homestuck webcomic, Andrew Hussie has also faced multiple controversies. In a 2006 webcomic, a piece of dialogue says "I LOVE NIGGERS!", a joke in Homestuck where "FUTURE arachnidsGrip" is abbreviated to "FAG", which the characters in the webcomic are completely unaware of it being offensive, repeated use of the R slur, and many, many, other examples. Toby Fox was working in Hussie's basement during most of the development of Undertale.

MatPat - Made a stream on an Undertale fangame "Heartbound", without crediting or linking the game or its developers. MatPat was confronted with this by the game developers, and defended it. Toby Fox even made a tweet, saying, "You should link to ANY game you play. Creators need all the help they can get... You went too far this time."

Attempted murder - Avime Deus was an artist and made art of 'shipping' Sans and Frisk, an adult-minor relationship. During a Taiwan anime convention, a 'fan' recognized her and offered her homemade cookies. Upon eating, a needle injured her tongue and mouth and she started bleeding, she immediately spat it out. It is unknown whether or not this was actually caused by her controversial Undertale shipping art, or something else, but it is believed to be the case.

Arrest - The Creator of the mod Undertale Bits and Pieces was arrested on charges of soliciting and possession of child pornography, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison. This arrest was triggered by a Cyber tip.

Shayy - Popular Undertale and Deltarune content creator, was exposed for being a pedophile.

Department of War - The Department of War Chief Technology Officer Instagram account has posted pro-war images including Trump with the background music being "Vs. Susie" and "Flower Man" by Toby Fox in the Deltarune soundtrack. Materia Music made a tweet aware of this, stating "We are investigation options and cannot comment further at this time"

So Sorry! - Samael donated $1,000 USD to add his OC to Undertale, as donating that amount of money was a choice Toby Fox added to his Kickstarter campaign. His OC was added, as "So Sorry", a secret encounter. However, people had later found out that he had a fat fetish, which appeared in drawings of his character. Toby Fox responded to this on Tumblr, saying "UNDERTALE is basically a game about accepting and befriending people that are different than you. Everyone has the right to like or dislike anything they want. But there’s no reason to turn your dislike into a personal attack.". Years later, Samael would face another controversy, involving Floraverse, where he was administrator. Floraverse is a so-called cult focused on pedophilia, zoophilia, grooming, and all that gnarly stuff.

Deltarune Fan Café - Occuring in 2026 in Toronto, Canada. The Café had various unsafe work practices and food quality was unacceptable, leading to food poisoning of multiple people. Pricing was also excessive.

Undertale Yellow Groomer - In 2025, SKL (Super Kirby Lover) made a post exposing a member of the Undertale Yellow team, a respected Undertale mod, Ryle for grooming a person named OFF and other few victims involved. This was happening as far back as 2019, and was being kept hidden by other Yellow team members.

why even bother responding to this defending these situations if it's your first exposure to them and you're not going to research it? sure i agree toby was young for his edgy comments back in the day, but why are you defending omocat and vivzie too?

OMOCAT: you don't even know what shota means, which for the record is the same thing as a loli but specifically referring to young boys. it's a term used by a pedophile community who fetishizes children, and if you ever saw someone with a shirt that said SHOTA or LOLI you would immediately know theyre a pedophile with no room for "maybe they didnt know what it meant". theres literally only one type of person who uses those words. for the record, this is in addition to numerous other comments shes made about little boys including the one listed in the post where she tweeted "hi i love little boys". this was not out of context quote, its literally the entire context
  2. vivziepop: are you seriously going to write off everything listed as "bad humor"? her list of offenses goes far beyond saying offensive things for the record, including animator abuses, working with a rape fetishist for storyboarding (the same show with angel dust as a character btw), and more. it's been so many years since i was well versed on vivzie so i don't remember the other things she's done, but that's a blessing to her
  3. andrew hussie: i lowkey think you don't really care about racism, you just care about tempering people's reaction to racism. when it was vivzie it's just a bad sense of humor, when it was hussie it's just homestuck and critics are apparently silly for not expecting that. this is something you should acknowledge and grow out of

i understand you're young but i think it's important to tell you early on to not go down this path of feeling like you have to defend everyone you look up to. i like toby's games too, he's been a major inspiration to me, i even like his personality, but there's no reason to wiggle your way out of admitting he's comfortable associating with people who are guilty of things that he himself is critical of. when you publicly support blm, make boundless lgbtq and trans rep, and generally make anti discrimination as a major theme of your games, only to then be working with (and even friends with) racist and transphobic people it rubs me the wrong way.

  1. "Future arachnidsGrip" is used in a context where the format is standardised. Are you really sure it was a joke and not a coincidence??
  2. The webcomic is about a bunch of teenagers doing cosmic-level shenanigans and games. ofc there's going to be some offensive language across 8,000 pages.
  3. Just because someone has acocciated with another person in the past does not mean all the other person's controversies need to reflect upon the first person if they were acocciated in ways that were not directly linked to the controversy in question.

Maybe I'm crazy for this but I think hating So Sorry is stupid, regardless of the creator's disgusting actions. I mean, a lot of modern medicine comes from inhumane experimentation, so should we just not use that research? I dunno, food for thought.
