Susie, Kris, Alvin, Noelle, Rudy, Carol, and more are unique Lightners from Deltarune that do not appear in Undertale.
Yeah but if they appeared in Undertale they would likely be a lightner, as all other Undertale characters in Deltarune are lightners.
I did not say Tao appeared in Undertale and is therefore a Lightner.

Look, it’s fair to say that it’s technically unconfirmed what kind of creature Tao is
But it’s not that much of a mystery, there are lots of characters where that’s unconfirmed, and it doesn’t make sense to theorize about Tao being a monster
The Knight did kidnap Undyne so I don't know if it really is that much of a stretch that Tao could've been kidnapped
