Sly somehow put his shopkeepers key (which I needed for one of the dreamers BTW) at the end of path of pain for me on a randomizer I played once, Doubt Gerson would be able to do that.
But the real actual reason I vote for sly is because I can beat Gerson but can’t beat sly

If it was a death battle tho, it all comes down to the fact that Gerson has a GIANT HAMMER and Sly is a BUG.
Bug size is normalized as no scale is shown, for all we know they're just normal size and just called bugs, what if HK is set at that one time when oxygen levels meant giant insects?
Sly probably would be able to dodge Gerson, and the reverse is also true. So it depends on who does something unexpected....Sly has the dash slash, however, which could surprise Gerson and land him a hit, if not multiple, at amplified damage considering he's using nail arts.
Actually, while (to my memory) Sly has pretty straightforward patterns with few surprises or feints, Gerson actually does have a fake-out attack at the end of the battle, where there's an undodgeable ring of illusions about to strike, which then dissipate. Sly might get caught off-guard by this, leaving him open to attack.
But it doesn't do damage, so he wouldn't be attacked.
Also, what if he dash slashed-this would in itself be unexpected, and could help land a hit, if not multiple.
