Help, how do I change my username?

No problem! Glad to hear that.

hey i was wondering, is it possible to have my username be lowercase? i usually write it that way on all sites that allow it, fandom didn’t allow it, and i had to keep the same username when migrating but this site does seem to (sansbot is lowercase for example)

On Discussions, technically yes because they allow that. But currently our extension that does the Discussions integration only sends your normal username to Discussions, so to allow completely lowercase usernames we would have to fix the extension. Which is not impossible and I’ll add it to our task list, but I have no ETA for when we’ll have that done.

On the wiki side, your username would always have to have the first letter uppercase. Such is the MediaWiki restriction.

@Wojtekpolska You can now lowercase your Discussions username by checking the “Lowercase the first letter of my username in Discussions” option in your wiki preferences, then log out and back into Discussions.

@KockaAdmiralac You should open a name change thread to help anyone who can easily have a name change without messing with the system

I mean, people can just make a new thread for their username change, or send us a message here, or send us a message on our talkpages, or send us a message on Discord, or an email, or whatever. It doesn’t have to all be on a single thread.

Speaking of which, would it be possible to change my username to DaPixl2000? There may be a couple issues with that due in o me having created a “Ghost account” with that username that has no connected password, email, or data. It happened by me trying to claim my fandom username on this wiki but I hadn’t edited the fandom wiki before 4/3 so I think that broke it.

I renamed you now, can you log out of and back into Discussions to see if it worked?

Thanks! Now I just need to set my profile pic… (don’t know why I haven’t got around to that yet lol)

I think it's supposed to be

As opposed to “That's the funny part- you don't.”

“Go do it, It’s not gonna do it itself.”

(actually does itself)
