I think that the opening section of Darkness Falls is based on Gaster's theme. The first bar consists of the first 4 notes of the theme, the fourth bar is the same but down a semitone, just like in Gaster's theme. It also makes sense in context if the voice saying "then the world was covered in darkness" is implied to be Gaster. I'm pretty confident on this, but I felt I ought to check with you guys before making the change.
As a side note, I also think the second section of Darkness Falls (Currently called the Darkness Falls motif) should be called the Faint Courage Motif, because that is where it features most prominently.

However, as I mentioned, it isn't just the four notes, I am also basing this on context indications and pitch changes. Out of curiosity, what would be your opinion on the second point I made?
Not always. For instance, Beginning is the first song in which Don't Forget appears, but because it features more prominently in Don't Forget, it is named after that.
if you take megalovania at about 1:57 and take the four notes of the bassline and shuft them up 5 octaves you will get notes close enough to gasters theme after replacing the ones that dont fit gasters theme
The discussion here is, quite frankly, reductionist to an absurd degree. Yes, a lot of songs have vaguely similar contours to Gaster's theme, causing baseless hallucinations. No, this isn't one of them. The song literally opens with an almost perfect Gaster quote, correct intervals and everything. The only difference is that the last note is one semitone down, but that just makes it the same note as the first instead of the second. The quote is then iterated upon before being repeated. Crucially, the repetition is modulated down, just like Gaster's theme. Additionally, the context is extremely Gastery. It's literally called Darkness Falls and the name in the game files uses the same AUDIO_ prefix as Gastery menu stuff. Gaster literally talks to you right before it plays! His intervention is what prompts it! Faint Courage, the remix of this song that plays on the Game Over screens where Gaster doesn't talk specifically omits this quote! Whether or not this is definitive or strong enough to include on the wiki is one question, but it is definitely intentional.
You could ask the same question about like 80% of leitmotif uses in either Undertale or Deltarune. The fact is, a note for note remix is not the only way to use a motif and using that as a standard is absurd. One note being a semitone lower doesn’t matter very much, especially because it STILL means that the motif in its entirety only has three unique notes. The last note of Gaster’s theme is typically a repetition of the first, but here it’s a repetition of the second. It’s really not that big of a deal.
Again, my argument for it being an intentional Gaster quote is not purely musical. The context is also very strongly linked to Gaster. The fact is, this quote is, musically, relatively strong. However, it does have shortcomings, and I think they’re outweighed by the context.

are we forgetting gasters theme is more than four notes and has four sections, which only appear in Another Him? every other song is just three or four notes which are not enough to be conclusive of anything.
