Gacharoom_unknown page name

I'm starting a vote on what to name the gacharoom_unknown page.

Currently, the page is named after the raw room name as presented in the game files. This name is not ideal since it is not standard and is clunky to read and link to. Whenever we mention the room, we usually wrap the name around <code> tags, which makes the problem even more apparent. This can be addressed in one of three ways:

Solution A: Rename the page to "Gacharoom" or something similar

This is my preferred proposal, since we can rename the page to something that is consistent across the rest of the wiki while also being as close to the raw room name as possible.

Pros:

  • The name is more standard, and we won't have to wrap it around <code> tags whenever we mention it.
  • The name "Gacharoom" is easier to search and link to.

Cons:

  • The name is technically unofficial.
  • The name may be confused for something that already exists, such as the B-Rank room. Alternative names might work better, but what would those be?

Solution B: Merge gacharoom_unknown content with the Green Room page

This is an alternate solution to the problem, born from the fact that the entire page only documents a single room as opposed to a collection of sublocations like the other location pages. To address this problem, we could merge content from the gacharoom_unknown page into a subsection of the Green Room page.

Pros:

  • We can still name the subsection to something more standard.
  • Since gacharoom_unknown is a sublocation of the Green Room, classifying it as such on the page would make the most logical sense.

Cons:

  • There is a unique method to access the room not seen anywhere else. As such, readers might expect the method to be documented on its own page, akin to something like Mancountry or the Weird Route pages.
  • There would be little room to add more specific detail to the subsection. We would be downgrading the content to just a general overview of the room.

Solution C: Leave everything as is

If this turns out to not be as big of a problem, we can leave the page name as is.

Pros:

  • gacharoom_unknown is technically the most official name we have for the room in the absence of any in-game name.
  • We won't have to change the way we link to the page.
  • Gacharoom is technically already a redirect to gacharoom_unknown, so readers searching for the page would most likely be taken to the proper place.

Please leave your thoughts in the comments, as well as any alternate solutions.

I vote for Solution A.

The biggest problem is that it will be confused for the B-Rank Room. But since the article already links to the B-Rank Room in the introduction, it's not that big of a problem.

I vote for Solution C.

Simple is best, in my opinion.

I'd just leave it as is (option C). And probably stop putting it in code format blocks too when its referring to the room. If we do want to give it a special name though, I'd say something like "gachapon secret room" is clear in exactly what it's talking about.

i actually think B is the best option here. it's always been strange to me that a single simple secret had its own page — mancountry is way more substantial than gacharoom. all that content could fit fine in Green Room imo

I’m kind of favoring option B a bit as well. The original article itself is very short.

Also on a semi-related topic, maybe we need to standardize when the code tag can be used?

Hmm... if the poll is still up, I think I'll vote for option A? I don't particularly dislike either of the other options, but the room does feel like it may have more significance to the themes of Deltarune in the long run with the whole Christmas code and potential foreshadowing. Plus the name gacharoom_unknown is kind of a mouthful. Personally I don't see much wrong with it as long as it's stated that it's an unofficial name like Shadow Mantle Holder is. I don't think it's a bad decision no matter where it goes, but that's my thoughts on it.

I was in favor of option B, because I was not sure it’s a noteworthy enough location to have its own page. But Green Room is already pretty big in size, and gacharoom_unknown is already as long as Artifact Room. Maybe merging it with Ball Machine would work better? But I’m still not sure what’s the best option to choose here.
