About original another weak supporting evidence is that Soulpower can't be recreated artificially(true lab, entry 2). And if Darkners have souls, Lightners during fountain creation can construct hundreds of beings with Souls, some of which (Gerson) are stronger than them. Which looks strange
My opinion is, darkners have empty souls. they are there purely to keep them alive, and thats it. No DT, No anything else, the bare minimum.
Why would they need Souls to be alive? Darkners are alive before Fountain creation, and after Fountain sealing. Them having empty souls would means, that every object in LW have souls(empty ones, but still)
they have souls in the dark world to be sentient there. if something is alive in the dark world, it has an empty soul, the LW counterpart doesn’t need this because it isnt alive. same goes for items, but in both LW and DW.
Why would you need Soul to be sentient? In UTDR, Soul and Mind are linked but separate. Flowey mind is the same mind as Asriel one(just hugely traumatised, but he still can think, feel, plan).
In True pacifist Frisk can refuse death after their Soul is broken. If being sentient required Soul, Frisk mind would have been destroyed each time Soul was broken, and there would be no mind to refuse death
If you don’t have a soul, you cant be alive without determination. flowey was injected with it, and frisk has tons.
(and as stated earlier, darkners don’t have determination)
Can monsters Souls produce determination? Yes, based on Undyne. So empty souls that don't produce will/determination are unheard in UTDR. Beings that don't have both souls and DT are unheard in UT.
Titanspawns are alive, they spontaneously appear in places of Dark, and they spawn from Titan. I don't think they have any kind of soul. They and Titan seems to not understand mercy, which shouldn't happen if they have Soul.
In conclusion both theories: darkners have empty souls, and darkners being soulless are somewhat are somewhat in conflict with UT. I personally prefer second idea. And if we accept that Titan and spawns are soulless beings, second variant is clearly favourite
no, some monsters don’t have DT. +empty souls was a made up term, just what I think could be.
How does having a soul make you instantly have feelings? As well, I think that a Titan+Titan Spawn don’t have souls. they aren’t sentient really, because sentience is doing something and knowing you’re doing it. The Titan+spawns don’t really know what they’re doing, and just exist to destroy.
As I proved here, Titans and spawns don’t affect this, and I've disproved that it conflicts with UT.
Let me elaborate on this rq, only boss monsters have determination. Other monsters can only have it for a short time before melting.
