Dark Sanctuary piano colors

A somewhat obvious observation that I haven't seen anyone address yet: The colors of every single piano in the 1st and 3rd Sanctuaries match the colors of the battle icons of the 4 main characters.

The 2 pianos before Gerson's Study are blue like Kris:

The 2 pianos in the Library and blue and green like Kris and Ralsei:

The octave shifting piano is purple and green like Susie and Ralsei:

The piano before the Dark Zone is blue like Kris:

The Golden Piano is yellow like Noelle:

The Grand Piano is blue like Kris:

Curiously, the only piano in the Third Sanctuary is purple like Susie...

...and it ends up swallowed by darkness:

Foreshadowing, perhaps?

Wait, what about the pianos in the 2nd sanctuary?

It's beige, but since the Second Sanctuary has hue shift shenanigans going on, it's probably purple underneath.

Yup, it is:

This theory gets a good 7/10 LONG rating.

This theory seems pretty believable, and I like the little icons you put in the post

The golden piano unlocking the secret boss could allude to Noelle’s connection with secrets and the alternative path

I’d guess all the pink pianos in the second and third sanctuary are because the pianos moving around rather than the shelves seems to be a product of Susie. That the piano is left in the titan-darkness could be foreshadowing, but I don’t feel like there’s any other evidence that gives an idea of what this would foreshadow.

I personally think the gold piano has no connection to Noelle and is just gold to be gold. The similar coloring is just a coincidence. For all the other pianos, that makes complete sense and I really like this.

The colors are very off…

This purple does not look like Susie's.

This green does not look Ralsei’s.

This blue does not look like Kris's.

Kris is cyan, not deep blue.

Oh yeah, this reminds me: The green shelf in the library leads to the prayer room which has a Mystic Band. The same room can be accessed via the pink piano in the Second Sanctuary, but it'd have a Power Band instead (if you hadn't picked up the Mystic Band).

Green piano = magic
Pink piano = power

They're close enough.

Also Kris is referred to as blue, not cyan all throughout the game. Remember: this is the same game that gave us a red guitar that's actually orange.

I’m saying this based on both the overworld sprites and the party menu sprites.

Yes, I know. My point is that both colors fall under the western* color category of "blue". Both colors are communicated using the same word - "blue".

*Colors aren't universal, and the words for them differ a lot between languages. In Russian, for example, we don't have a word for "blue". Rather, we have "синий" (≈ dark blue) and "голубой" (≈ light blue). Imagine if English didn't have the words "red" and "pink", and both were the same color. This is what English is like to Russian speakers.
