So Chapter 5 releases in 2 days (DELTARUNE THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW!). And while finishing chapter 4 for like the 4th time (had to delete my save file so tenna stays in my castle town) an interesting idea for what pretty much is a crack theory sice ther's little to no evidence about it. What if Ralsei has the fifth shadow crystal? Again, don't take this as a serious theory, just something to ponder about before Ch. 5 releases.
What are the main characteristics of the scret bosses?
- They all are very strong enemies, as backed up by Seam in their dialouge, and Ralsei is clearly holding back and has abilities we don't know about yet (remember how it was revealed that he can use the undertale dreemur's fire magic in a single act in chapter 4? That boy definitely has some secrets.)
- All of them (well, maybe except the knight, as we know little to nothing about them as of right now) posses some meta-knowledge about the game, as well as knowing about the Prophecy at least to some extent. Jevil's whole thing is "the world is fake and I'm the only one who knows it", and also his defeat dialogue mentioning both Queen and the knight. One might say the he just knew them both personally, but 1. Why would jevil know Queen? We'e never told that the darkners from the card kingdom and the darkners from the cyber world interacted, except maybe him and Spamton and King and Queen? Maybe? and 2. He talks about them like he's foreshadowing future events, which does align with the prophecy, as bott of the events related to those two haven't happened yet. Spamton... Well, he's the hardest one to rule out of these, but you could say that only him out of all darkners (again except Ralsei) seeing the SOUL and knowing about it is at least something he's not supposed to know. Also him knowing about the [Angel], [Angel] (and that means he knows abou the prophecy) and selling the ThornRing to influence the wierd route??? Tell me if there is a more obvious instance of him posessing meta-knowledge. The knight is literally in the prophecy and even not counting that they are clearly educated on how the dark fountains work. Gerson, well, his "resistance" to the shadow crystal's influence (or maybe the mysterious individual's knwoledge?) probably implies that he also knows that their plane of existence isn't the only one, he just chooses not to care and be truly "free". i think I shouldn't explain why he's tied to the prophecy. And now Ralsei. Well! he clearly knows about the SOUL, how it interacts with the game (Kris closes eyes so the SOUL cannot see the text. How does Rlasei know that the SOUL sees specifically the text and not hears the dialouge?), about the battle and item system, and (I haven't seen people talk about this like at all) he even knows the structure of the school in the light world! For those that forgot, at the very start of chapter 2 he tells Kris to go to the unused classroom to the EAST (from player's perspective by the way! It would be the west for Kris) and pick up the objects there. How does he know that if he can't go to the light world? As for the prophecy... I think I shouldn't explain here as well.
- (First thing I forgot to add): the "mysterious individual", even though we already know who they are most likely. How did Ralsei learn the prophecy? Why does he know Susie's and Kris' names when they meet for the first time? WHO LOCKED THE KIDS IN THE GODDAMN CLOSET? Seriously, who? Why doesn't anyone talk about it? (It might sound unrelated, but remember that just because the doors got locked the duo fell into the dark world and the whole machine kickstarted from there). Maybe this "individual" told Ralsei about the prophecy and how the SOUL and game systems work. And assuming the knight is the one who was handing out the shadow crystals, why couldn't they open the dark fountain in the school closet or visit it and give the "knowledge" onto Ralsei, someone who is supposed to accompany the other two heroes and help them in any way he can, together with the shadow crystal? But ther might be a really strong argument against it: Ralsei acts like he sees the knight for the first time ever when the fight starts (or does he? Maybe he just expertly fakes it?). Wait, but why does he immediately start begging the knight to not cause the roaring in the act's first freaking line of dialogue? Huh? Edit 2: WAIT I JUST REREAD THE DIALOGUE AND HE LIETRALLY JUST BEGS THEM TO STOP! Not like Susie who is like "What the hell are you dude and why do you want Toriel?" No he just asks them to stop and that's all! Like he already knows abou their behavior! It seems that the counterargument solves itself on the go!
- And finally, the mental degradation of the first two bosses. Ralsei is clearly in not the best mental state after chapter 4's end and if you believe the HP = hope theory he gained the least out of the three between chapter 4 and 5, judging from the teaser. And this is the point where all the "solid" arguments end. He has never shown signs of going insane like Jevil or Spamton, but I think (even if this thory was to be true) that some event in chapter 5 might finally make him snap and lose his mind for a short time. That would be the moment for a fight against him which would result in us getting the final shadow crystal out of him. Again, I'm sure that none of this this won't happen and nothing will come out of it, but as Seam said, But it was fun... to pretend it might, for a little while.
So anyway, that's my crack theory. Actually the first theory I've ever come up with. Funny how this came absolutely randomly into my mind just from doing the sound of justice fight.
I might add some extra "evidence" today and tomorrow in case I find something interesting or remember about something I wanted to write here initialy but just forgot to. Also sorry if I made any typos or gramatical mistakes, I'm not used to typing out big texts in english so I might screw up a little.
