I actually think amalgam knight can be disproven on the fact that Toby might not want to reuse such a large idea, though this in itself could be disproven with the fact that the Undertale amalgams might have been a trial run for the knight.
THe UT amalgams were Alphys' mistake, though. Gaster had no part in it.
